I have been wet shaving form a year, been on B&B just found this and me here too I use Godrej shaving cream , Gillette Sterling (The only razor you can find in India ) but sometimes i use by DAD's H.M.T (Hindustan Machine Tools) but its super aggressive. I have trying to locate Parker Manufacturer and when i talked to them they refused to provide me any razor ,they only ship them outside but after a while i convinced them to sell me one unfortunately they are busy till 18th OCTOBER 2012 so will not be able to get till then ,lets see what happens on 18th I WANT TO ASK SOMETHING , I'M REALLY IN LOVE WITH TTOs BUT HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINS REGARDING PARKER 22R ABOUT THE BLADE ALIGNMENT BUT THOSE PSOT WERE OLD IS THIS PROBLEM IS STILL FACED WITH NEW RAZORS ? AND WHAT ABOUT OTHER PARKER MODELS THAT WILL BE GREAT FOR ME (i want a normal razor not super aggressive nor mild ,i hate my Gillette Sterling mildness but i don't have any choice.I love to use Forgiving blade on aggressive razor but i don't want super aggressive any suggestion on which Parker should i get ? ) ANY INDIAN HERE WHO HAS BOUGHT PARKER OR ANY OTHER RAZOR THAT CAN BE FOUND EASILY?
First of all...Welcome to the Den! I just so happen to own a Parker 22R. It is the only razor I use. I find it to work well for me. Decent length on the handle, has a good weight to it. I personally use astra blades. I don't have anything to compare it to since this is the only razor I own, but I am able to get DFS's and BBS's all the time. The main thing is shave prep and a good quality soap/cream. I got mine at Amazon for like 28.00. USD or so. I am not in India so this may not be of much help to you.
It was really helpful in choosing the razor now i think after reading your post i will go for 22R. CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE BLADE ALIGNMENT , DO YOU FACE ANY BLADE ALIGNMENT ISSUES AND WHEN YOU BOUGHT THIS RAZOR Thanks for the reply Chris
...to The Shave Den family! Be sure to stop by The Shave Den "Master Sticky" thread to familiarize yourself with the rules and different areas of The Shave Den!
No issues with blade. Just twist open, close, shave. If I get a few minutes, I will post some pics up close. Might be later on today. Stay tuned.
Thanks alot Chris now my decision is made m gonna get 22R for sure, just hope i do not end up buying defective piece
Hi there and welcome to the Den! If you would like a more aggressive razor than the Gillette Sterling, I could recommend the Parker 94R. It compares very favorably to the Merkur 34C HD. It is moderately aggressive, heavy, and has an amazing grip. Cheers, Lyndon
Hello. Idea. If your concerned about 'aggressiveness' or lack of you may want to consider an adjustable razor. A Gillette or a merkur. You can then dial your best shave. Read up before you buy or bid.
SO i found Parker 95R locally and its a three piece razor isn't it funny. Will soon post a new thread with pics
