Threw out my regular lineup to try the new tech!

    '38-'45 Canadian fat handle tech
    Astra SP (shave #3)
TSD Wheat cream - Cool Water Type
    razorock alum stick
    M&L Florida Water

Got a DFS in 3 passes. The Tech seems even milder than my Krona! Maybe I just hit a good combo.

    Monday 10/22/2012

Typical start to the day a long hot shower.
After showering facial prep with Prairie Creations pre-shave soap. The :git:of my brushes, the Semogue OC had been warming up. Chose Derby Menthol, just enough chill for today's soap. Day two for the Super Adjustable and Voshkod pairing. Experimented with the dial settings this morning, first pass at #7, second pass at #6, and the last pass at #5.
After three passes a warm water rinse. Followed up with cold water splashes, a facial rub down with alum. Last but not least a dab of Tet-A-Tet balm to complete the shave.
It has been awhile since I have used the Super, I forgot how great the shaves are. Today's shave was superior near prefect DFS.

I hope everyone has had a great start to the week.

    4/8 Rebell from herzi
    Vie-Long horsehair brush
    Viking Fresh SC (Russian version)
    Cold water splash
    Tet-a-tet ASB
Fast shave, but I still decided to grab a straight. Sunday honing session did it's job on Rebell and it is now smooth and soft shaver. Love that razor, it's paper-thin blade has a great feedback and also gives a loud sound. DFS, I skipped the third pass, so WTG and XTG only.

I wanted to use my straight again but I had to leave the house so early. Well, I guess Sunday is the only day of the week for it!

Well, I found that I can do WTG-XTG passes only and just get DFS. The ATG hand test still fails but I have no person in our office who would like to touch my face ;). And a quick XTG pass before going to bed makes me nice and smooth. 2 shaves a day sounds like an ugly idea, but I looks like a bum when unshaved. So I have a decision to have a thoughtful evening shave that lasts next day or go for that 2 passes morning + 1 pass evening shaving race.

Me too, I look like a bum if I don't shave. My problem is, during the week I have rarely more than an hour before to leave the house, so I get up, I take a fast shower, and then I have just enough time to wet fast my face, make my lather, make my shave, dry up, get dressed and go. Sometimes I do a WTG pass twice and that gives me DFS, sometimes I can do a WTG and then ATG lightly, so usually I am not BBS, but I am DFS+ which during the week for me is very good.

Pre-Shave: Hot shower and Proraso Pre-Post cream
Brush: Oscar11 handle with TGN 24x50 grade A silvertip
    Razor: 1958 Superspeed
    Blade: Persona Red
    Soap: Tabac
Post: Thayers Witch Hazel Alum, and Osage Rub

This was my first shave with the brush I built with the handle that Oscar11 so graciously PIFd me. I was amazed at how great the brush felt compared to my pure badger. I had a brush full of creamy soap whipped up in a vintage Old Spice mug. Plenty for a three pass shave and touch ups. A DFS was achieved with not a single weeper or any irritation. I keep finding myself reaching for the Superspeed over anything else in the cabinet.

Tuesday – and I really enjoyed my shave today!!

    Calani Simply Soap shave stick
Semogue #1305 shave brush, boar bristle
    1955 Gillette Red Tip
    Feather blade (1.)
    Bloc Osma alum
    Speick Men after shave

A couple of firsts today which turned out great!

First of the firsts: I am normally a cold-water shaver, today I did however soak the tip of the shave stick in warm water for about 30 seconds before applying (read: vigorously rubbing) it to the face. The rest was done with cold water of course.

Second of the firsts: Using my Semogue boar brush in conjunction with a shave stick. The Semogue has had a few shaves already but so far loading the brush has happened in the soap dish/jar. This little cute piggy brush really made the lather explode on my face, simply amazing! And what a lather! Wow!

I am extremely content with today’s shave!

Last nights shave was great, didn't want it to slide by.
    2012-10-21 21.45.48.jpg

I took up Steve's suggestion and pulled out my Speick shave stick. I tried it only twice before. I didn't care for it much compared to the cream. My feelings haven't changed. Maybe I would like it better grated into a bowl.

    2012-10-22 21.33.32.jpg

The Speick shave stick could be a little better in the cushion and glide department for my liking. Still love the smell. My youngest son laughed at me for "shaving with a huge chap stick." The RR A/S did it job and saved the shave.

Ok, if I can keep my 5 axis mills running long enough ( 1 would think 3D machining 56+2 RC tooling would take longer than this) I will post Monday mornings shave early Tuesday morning. Then Tuesday mornings shave later this morning. 3 rd shift "sounds" confusing doesn't it? Enough rambling :D

    Hot shower
    Razorock Napoleon's Violet artisan
    Gillette super speed
    Feather blade
    Omega badger brush
    3 pass DFS
    Cold water rinse
    Old spice

    Razor : Parker 98R
    Blade : Polsilver (5)
    Pre : none
    Soap : Barbus + 3 drops M-bomb
    Brush :Fatnash
ASS : TSD Blueberry witch hazel

    2 pass DFS+

There was huge difference in how my face reacted to this fatnash brush. I loved this one nice and soft medium back bone no prickle great lather retention.

Normally I would toss any blade at 3 shaves Polsilvers usually at 5 shaves even tho I could get a couple more shave out of it. This blade seams to be getting even more comfortable to use tho so I plan to push this blade as far as it will go. My record is 11 with a Polsilver.

    Razor : Parker 98R
    Blade : Polsilver (6)
    Pre : Old Prorasso Green
    Soap : Pitralon
    Brush : Fatnash
    ASS : Ogallala Bay Rum

Man that Pitralon has a Strong scent and I love it hard to describe, spicy defiantly eastern European. Super slick not quite as much cushion as the Barbus but there was more then enough for a great shave.

This shave was my first Bay Rum shave Loved the smell lasted a good hour and a half but either I had a minor reaction to the splash or I am just not used to it as it felt warm on the skin for about 2 min after application no pain just not something I am used to.

    Until next time
