Feather 17th shave

Just got my 17th comfortable shave off a Feather blade. This is even better than the first Astra blade. I guess I will order a Merkur Futur adjustable razor to see if it better than the Non adjustable Feather razor that I bought for $ 20. Doe's anyone know if the satin finish holds up better than the chrome finish on the Futur? I guess I could order the gold plated one for $ 15 more or so.

 

The satin is a little easier to hold on to than the bright finished one.

 

Thanks for the information. If you have a Futur, is it better than the Progress razor? I was even thinking of getting the gold plated one for $ 15 more. It might not be as easy to hold onto either though.

 

What is the difference between the finishes?

 

There are three finishes available on the Futur; chrome, satin finish, and gold plated. The poster above said that the satin is not as slippery? as the shiny polished chrome. I don't own one yet, so I can't comment on that.
