Hot shower sets the tone for the day.
While showering the bristles of the Parker "King Badger" were warming up.
Today was another soap croap sample, marked 3P.
The Parker whipped mounds of lather, from a little chunk of the sample. It look like frosting the scent was very delectable.
Prep for the face provided from pre-shave soap from Proraso.
The lather was slick making shaving with the SS and Dorco a total ease.
After two passes a gentle warm water rinse, followed with the briskness of cold water. Finish touches from Ogalla and Kapo.

Hey Bruce...it is from Shave a Buck. Although good luck right now getting in an order as I understand Joe was in the direct path of Sandy.

It is the T2 razor, which is $26.49. Toss the head as it is utter garbage (at least the one on mine), use the handle, as it is a virtual clone of the BRW Bull Mastiff Flare Knob.

Also when he does ship expecting long shipping times, it took 9 days from NJ to IL.

Great blade, although not in every razor. It kills me in the FaTip and Cadet.

Arley, I was always wondering about the Fatip. It's quite aggressive, right?

Very interesting shave today, and I did a lot of things differently. I started off by applying my TSD Sub-Zero in the shower after I washed my hair. It was a very interesting sensation... the general warmth of the the shower contrasted by the cooling sensation on my face. I washed off the Sub-Zero with just a bit of soap but next time I will just leave it on my face. The second thing I did was palm lathering. I got mixed results really. I added a ton of water but I still think it might not have been enough. The lather never really took off. The next thing a bit different was the blade. I have been palm stropping this blade and today was shave number 5!! That's a first!! I have never gotten this far before with any blade. And how did The Spoiler do? Pretty darn good! Next, the choice of razor was interesting. I am just starting to carve out my Movember 'stache. I needed something reasonable gentle, with a small head, and accurate. The Gillette Tech did a great job. I like the 444 ASG but it would probably never be a big seller here in Hong Kong. In Chinese, the number 4 sounds like the word for death and it is considered very unlucky! Nice finish with the Alt Innsbruck. No complaints! Well actually, my upper lip is whining a bit and still trying to figure out why it was "forgotten". :)

    Cheers, Lyndon

Thanks Arley. I thought it looked like a BRW Bull Mastiff that is what struck me. I will keep it on my agenda for future action as I'm sure Shave a Buck has some serious problems to deal with at the moment and in the near future with clean-up after sandy. Thanks for the info!

I have not posted my shaves in this thread this week as I have been posting in the hand lathering week thread. But I tried Ingram's this morning as my 1st menthol shave.

    Razor: Parker 22R
    Blade: Astra
    Cream: Ingram's
    Brush: TBS

This is my 1st time using a cream at all as I use mainly soaps. The lather was tricky at 1st. But I think I had a bit too much water in the brush. But I got a nice lather. The shave was good and the cool sensation was somewhat pleasing. I feel that menthol for me will be once in awhile. The menthol is not my favorite. I know it has it's fans. :) A good DFS nonetheless.

    Friday:

    Turkish Horsehair
    Super Speed/7 AM day 5
Arko Ice Mint SC :love055: :love055: :smiley freezing: :smiley freezing:

Level B Freezing is how I classified the Arko Ice Mint cream and the Svoboda balsam - in other words, they're both nice and cooling. This morning's shave was a pleasure, and I would say that I turned out BBS. The 7 AM blade is still performing very well considering it's been in use for five days. ;) :D

Well, bad lather day for me. I still got an excellent shave but barely had enough lather for my normal two passes. Never did really care for this brush, it's a little prickly. TGIF, have a good one. I have enough hours in this week that I could have left work yesterday at noon. Maybe I can get out a little early today. I have a couple of brush projects and a rescale I'd like to get to.

A forced 15 minute shave. Normally I'm over 30 minutes because I take my time. No blood, but it was just barely a DFS.

I think my face might not like RR Fresco, which would be too bad because I love the scent and performance. I don't recall having this problem before.

Todays Shave! Not a bad start to Movember...startin to grow my first mustache ever! Im goin for a sweet handlebar so I can't wait til a few months down the line to see how its gonna look! Anyways heres what popped off today at the sink....

Soap- RazoRock Zi Peppino (bowl lathered)
    Brush- Tweezerman Badger
    Razor- EJ89
    Blade- Feather
    A/S- Vitos Tobacco

Never mixed the Zi Peppino with the Vitos....smells pretty good when doubled up on the Tobacco scent! The Zi Peppino has a light but distinct scent and lathers up like a beast!

    Friday for me:

Pre-shave: Hot shower, 365 Glycerine soap
Cream: Old Spice Lime (Thanks to the generous Turk!)
    Brush: Vie Long 12705
    Razor: Merkur 1904 OC w/Dorco ST301 blade
Post: IGS Alum Block, T&H West Indian Limes ASB (Their stuff seems overpriced but they do have a generous sample pack.)

I like the Old Spice cream quite a lot-makes a thick fluffy lather with almost no effort and, cushioning? Hoo boy is it ever-I went 4 1/2 passes and didn't feel any irritation. I expected a more chemical-ly scent, but the folks making it did an excellent job of making it strong and pleasant, with only the slightest harsh undertone.

DFS, but I do have my doubts about the Dorco blade.

Great shave this morning with the Mongoose. (Thanks Phil!) Back to the Voskhod Blades after a couple of weeks off; they are still as good as I thought. The Omega Boar is breaking in nicely and the La Toja and AV Musk are always a pleasure to use. Hope everyone had a great week and enjoys the weekend. Let's keep our East Coast Brothers & Sisters in our thoughts as they recover from the tragedy of Sandy.
