My stuff finally arrived and I had my first wet shave on Saturday morning and this morning was my third. Here's my stuff... (I'll post it in the den section...) EJ DE89 (Barley) Muhle HJM Badger Brush EJ Hydrating Pre-Shave Lotion T&H Ultimate Comfort Cream Alum Block Thayers Unscented Witch Hazel T&H Ulitmate Comfort After Shave Balm Blade Sampler Oh, and I'm using a noodle bowl I got from Target. I knew not to expect perfect shaves at first. I've been using an electric so all of this is totally new. I soaked everything during my shower and took my time. It is glorious!!! I ended up with a nice close shave with the exception of my neck but, I know that's due to my lack of technique. Yesterday was just a nice overall shave, better on my neck. Today I basically went for presentable. I think that 3 days is going to be the max for me blade wise as I noticed that I had a little more irritation on my neck after this mornings shave than the other two days. I really like the T&H cream it produces a nice lather within seconds of whipping it. I started with an Astra Platinum out of my blade sampler and so far I like them. I really don't know how much I can expect to tell about blades after three days but, it definitely is nice. I will report back after I get a little better with my technique but so far I think I'm in Love...
It only gets easier as you go! I had the same problem with my neck when I first started. It was hard going from a pivoting cartridge to a DE since you have to learn to pivot your wrist. For me that was the biggest hurdle.

Hi! Welcome to the Den. Be sure to check in with the November Newbie Give-Away to win some great stuff.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I did a bunch of research and video watching before purchasing my stuff. I have very bad allergies to dyes and perfumes. I even have to wear my tag-less t-shirts inside out for a few washes so that the ink in the tag doesn't break me out. I could have gone cheaper with what I purchased but, I'm used to the mantra of buy the good stuff first and you'll have it for life. So, update. Day 5 - I had been having a few issues with my neck and razor burn. Purchased the "e" version of Leisureguy's book yesterday and realized that I had been inadvertently going ATG on my neck. Also, I hadn't been concentrating enough on my blade angle on my neck either. Long story short, I was careful this morning and no razor burn. Did three WTG passes on my neck and one WTG and two XTG on my face. Not the smoothest but awesome none the less. I'm really enjoying the smells (even though my stuff is "unscented") and the nostalgia of the whole process. It's a bit romantic in a way, no? Anyways, have a awesome day everyone!
I agree that the Nostalgic factor was a huge part of my decision in going to traditional wetshaving. When I think that this is how my grandfather shaved back in the day makes me feel awesome every time I shave.
