Pre Shave: Hot Shower / Proraso PSC Shave Cream: Proraso Red Shave Bowl: WCS large bowl Shave Brush: Men's Biz Super Badger Razor: Merkur 12C Blade: Personna Red (3) Post Shave: Cold Water rinse / Nivea Post SC What a great shave.
Wednesday: #6 Horsehair Super Speed/7 AM day 3 Lord Emofresh SC Svoboda AS Balsam Alt Innsbruck AS Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui EDT What a great shave today - that Lord Emofresh cream is becoming more and more popular here in Montreal, especially with the Middle Eastern community here. It's a Level C Menthol cream which lathers crazy-rich, smells awesome, and gives great skincare. The Svoboda balsam is Level B, and the Alt Innsbruck is easily a Level A, so let's say that I froze my face in stages!

Shave of the Day (SOTD) Wednesday November 14, 2012 Prep: Brush soaking in cold water, face wash with Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Cleanser, luke warm shower Razor: Gillette NEW Short Comb mounted to T2 Bulldog Handle Blade: Personna Med Prep Brush: Semogue 1438 Boar Soap: Proraso Menthol and Eucalyptus (New Formula) AS: Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue Post: Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash of Aftershave I love of each of my four Semogue Boars, but the one that I seem to reach for all of the time is the 1438. It just feels so right in my hand and the knot is perfect for face lathering. As always, I get a very close and mild shave from the NEW short comb. Those wanting another mild open comb, I do not think that the NEW SC is an aggressive razor at all. For me it is nothing more than an open comb variant of a Tech...or maybe after using the Matador Capa Dorada, everything else feels like a Tech

SOTD Wednesday 11-14-2012 1952 Gillette Super Speed Black Tip (X-2) Steel Feather Blade Proraso PSC Arko Shave Stick Natural Bristle Boar Dickinson's Witch Hazel Nivea Replenishing ASB Mennen Original Skin Bracer First use of the Arko Shave Stick this morning and I am pretty impressed with the lather produced by this SS. The scent of it reminds me of Ivory Soap from back in my childhood but, it's not all that bad really. I haven't used the Black Tip for a while and I should use it more often. Paired with a feather blade this razor is absolutely perfect! Lloyd, I will have to agree with you my friend; this razor was King Gillettes' finest hour! Finish was a cooling splash of Skin Bracer reminiscent of my Dad's shaving routine. All in all, a great shaving experience this morning!

Wednesday Eucerin moisturizing cream Omega 10083 Pro boar MWF Merkur 23c w/ Kai Stainless Cetaphil gentle cleanser Master Bay Rum Wonderful two pass DFS! I've taken this Kai blade past a week now! Unbelievable. We'll see if this is the end of the road tomorrow. In honor of Myth Busters week --- Myth?: Necessary to use a cleanser on the face before shaving to get a close comfortable shave. Hypothesis: Not necessary to use a cleanser on the face before shaving to get a close comfortable shave. Myth Busted?: I never use a cleanser before shaving and imho my shaves are great. No problems at all. Now I don't go into a shave with mud all over my face either. When I've used a cleanser before shaving in the distant past, the only difference I've noticed is drying of the skin from too much washing. Dry skin usually gives me trouble when shaving (uncomfortable-low performing shaves). My Eucerin moisturizing cream application before shower/shave helps prevent my skin from drying while in the shower and provides a nice pre-shave start to my shave. As a side note, all my soaps/creams tend to be on the moisturizing side of the spectrum. BTW, everyday I do use a gentle cleanser (Cetaphil) after shaving just to clean off any residue from the soap/cream. This doesn't seem to interfere with the moisturizing benefits of the Eucerin moisturizing cream and soaps/creams. Pores clean, skin moist, no acne or any other nasties. Not scientific or anything. Ohhhhhhhh my goodness that Aspis Ice Rain - ohhhhhhh my goodness, I cannot wait to get it! (and the other goodies!)
Today is a monumental day in history for me. It was my first straight shave! Pre Shave: Shower, Proraso PSC, Pacific Shave Face Scrub. Brush: Semogue 1305. Razor: Gold Dollar 300 and Gillette Black handled Flare Tip. Blade: Personna Med Prep. Cream: Musgo Real. Post: Cold water rinse, alum block, cold water rinse, Thayer's Rose WH, Juicy Couture Dirty English Aftershave. Ok guys here's how it went down. I only planned to do my cheeks with the straight and accomplished that without a single nick. It felt kind of awkward trying to handle it, especially when I crossed over to the opposite side of my face. However, I still managed to get the opposite side of my face, but didn't go for smooth. If I missed it, I just left it and then went back over it with my Super Speed after I re-lathered. The areas I did manage to get clean feel amazing! Enough rambling, I just wanted you all to share my excitement.
