A few days ago I've given away my Victoria boar brush to a friend of mine, an eager beginner to wet shaving, and since I left my badger at my GF's apartment, the need for a new brush was dire , or else I would lose a day of shaving At the Muller store i found a beech wood handle boar brush by HJM for about 5,5$... of course I bought it Here's one lousy pic taken by my cell phone, this is after the first shave (and about 3-4 test lathers) The feel of the handle is great, the knot is 20mm and loft is 51mm , it's a bit longer than my old brush. The brush had a little bit of the funky piggy smell but seems that my botched cream/soap overmentholated project is good for de-funking It takes on Tabac soap very good (of course expectations are that it will get better when broken in ), Speick cream wasn't problem either and it actually didn't lose one hair so far. The bristles feel quite soft when loaded with lather. So far I'm happy
I try to post a photo of my HJM Boar Badger. My HJM isn't my best Badger. It's is the badest badger i have. I only use it to shave my stomache and my chest.
Probably a bit off topic, but anyway... Why has Muhle changed their nice logo? When did they do that and what is behind that change? Does anybody know? Thanks!
I have some HJM brushes You can compare the handles between them and Muhle but you can not compare the quality of the knot There is much difference, the HJM's are not worth it.
I have 2 Brushes from HJM. One Boar and the other one is the "Black Fibre Sythetic" brush. The synthetic is stunning. Without any Backbone it lathers up soaps and creams as well to a nearly perfect lather. Rich and very creamy. Try it...
