My Dirty Bird scuttle just got here this morning, oooooh talk about gorgeous and there's no way I'm making lather at home without this baby. Still have quite a few things not arrived yet though thanks to slow Canada Post, but hopefully they'll be here soon. Edit - Ended up running to one of the stores on the South side of the city today and picked up a tub of Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar. Went through all the scents, I'm thinking this is my favourite.
Well I just got back from my cottage were I was for two weeks and we will just say a lot of packages were waiting for me I think I can get a few good razors out of these as only two hones were cracked i got two evereadys that look like 1924s but say pat pending does this mean they were made before the patent was approved ? and these can someone identify the razors in the last picture and tell me if blades are available for any of these types
My whipped dog silvertip came today. I havent had a chance to whip up some lather with it yet but I followed the instructions printed on the packaging to get rid of the smell and the brush bloomed perfectly. Before After
Wow, that scuttle looks nice. And a Dirty Bird too! You know, I think it's universal. All men love dirty birds!! Cheers, Lyndon
Hi Eric KC, will you be selling any of the Rolls Razors? Will they be revamped a bit? Regards, Lyndon
:mail: And what did I find but a box from TSD! A jar of TSD ISZ PSB, a puck of lanolin Tabac Type soap, and a puck of the new LSOTQ! I'm liking the scent of the D1 LSOTQ. I'll be using it tomorrow.
I always said I'd never buy one. I had no idea what I was missing until this morning, they are FANTASTIC.
Cheers, Lyndon[/quote] What makes you think my name is Eric and yes I'm going to put together as many rolls as I can using some for parts to make the rest as perfect as possible
Sorry King Camp, I do apologize. I was in a bit of a hurry as I was heading off to go exercise. I scrolled up the page to get your name but I only went as far the bottom of the photo in Erik's post. Hence the confusion. Sorry for the mix up gents. I hope that I won't have to pay too much extra for my Rolls! Cheers, Lyndon
TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE! I got these two Parker Shavette razors a few days ago. The strange thing was, I received two identical packets in the mail on the same day. After opening both packages, I realized that the eBay vendor had filled my order twice sending me two razors instead of one! I contacted the vendor and offered to send one back if he was willing to pay the postage but he just said "Happy Holidays!" and told me to keep the extra razor, which was nice. I will probably end up trading the extra razor. Cheers, Lyndon
300 Astra SPs. Amazon has them for under $9/100. You also get free shipping if you buy $25 worth so I got 3.
Got my package from TSD store the other day. Have been too lazy to take pictures. The order had I think 5 different blades, AS milk in vanilla, and the "limited run" copal sent lanolin soap. Good stuff. the copal vanilla combo works out pretty nice. Sweetens it up. Edit: Here's the proof. Also just got a milk glass Old Spice AS bottle in to store my Old Spice in (which I have not bought yet) heck only $.99 on the bay.
Well, I went back to Pasteur's Pharmacy for more today. This place is dangerous. Here is today's haul... Merkur travel razor-$36.99 Astra Superior Platinum blades (5)-$1.49 Shark super chrome blades (10)-$1.99 Cheap omega brush (for travel)-$3.99 Simpson brush tube-$5.79 NY sales tax $4.46 Total-$54.71 I feel like a DE shave crackhead!
Well. Still no iKon base plate. Starting to get annoyed with that. BUT on the plus side my truly most awaited package arrived:
Posting a bit late, had really a busy week after the Christmas break. The Bigboy came in last friday. This is my first vintage and I can see the appeal of gillette vintages, really built to last generations. Have been shaving with this all week, the first two shaves were ok as getting the right blade angle was bit tricky, the head and rail don't show the blade gap when kept against the skin, EJ was much easier as blade gap was visible helping to angle the razor easily. On the third shave I could get the technique right and use the blade touching the skin feeling to angle in properly, excellent shave on 6. My favorite blade Gillette black works very well on these so I am happy I don't have to hunt new blade for this razor, my other favorite Astra SP were ok on these, their less sharp edges compared to Gillette black were very much visible on this razor. Thanks Luteplayers!
