Friday's Shave-Day #5 of "Straight 8 Week" 2 min. hot face rinse... Arko Shave Stick-bowl lathered/Omega 10029 Baby-Pro Sedef Disposable Blade Straight Razor/Perma-Sharp Super d1-3 passes 1955 Schick Hydro-magic/EMS-Personna d6-touch-up Arko-Nem moisturizer/Old Spice AS/Arko-Cool ASB 3passes...maybe 15 weepers between my botton lip and chin...blade too sharp, never felt a one, and they all closed up fast and face actually feels pretty irritation free compared to some of my earlier less bloody shaves this week that were a little heavy in the 'Razor Rage' burn area... Got a great shave on the moustace area....actually did some razor buffing...I didn't know you could buff with the straight, but it just kind of happened and I went with it....worked great...Then I did some buffing on the jaw-line and throat area...work great there aswell.... Only needed to touch-up the bottom-lip goatee area with the Schick....I'm gonna search this area on straight shaving videos big time...I can't seem to find an approach that works for me, in this area yet....
Wednesday - Friday Eucerin moisturizing cream warm shower Semogue 2000 and Omega 10083 Ingram SC and MWF Merkur 23c w/ Shark Cetaphil gentle cleanser Dickinson's WH cold water rinse Master Bay Rum Played between brushes and SC / MWF depending on the day. Friday 11-01-2013 Razor : Gillette Slim '64 Blade: Polsilver SI (3) Brush: Omega 10077 Cream: Gada Original AS: Brut Yesterday arrived my slim, mint condition, today I could not wait to try it out so I got earlier, quickly I put on 5 -3 passes for DFS+ . Next time will not waste time and put on 7 or 9,I think after R41 will be like play game. For comfort shaving helped wonderful cream from my good friend Jeff.
Great! I see we are using the creams that we sent each other - the Aspis performs so beautifully for me, and it not only cools my skin, it also prevents irritation. The Pascale will be my choice for tomorrow!
Afternoon head shave cause I couldn't wait. The SC is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAANTASTIC. The brush is amazing too, slightly floppier than I expected but it is far less scritchy than I expected out of a black badger. Have to do the borax treatment because it is a little funky.
Proraso PS Merkur 34c held by Tree Rex Feather IB LE Semogue Proraso SC Proraso ASB Pretty epic shave with this stuff. Not crazy about the smell but that's not the point of the Proraso white line. Zero weepers using the pre shave before each pass. My neck has been infuriated with shaving as of late. This stuff seems to be my answer. Jury is still out but I may need to buy Feathers in bulk. Fantastic blades indeed. Thanks to my sons Skylanders AD, I should have a different shave buddy for the next two months.
Saturday 12-01-2013 Razor: Gillette New LC Blade: Polsilver SI (4) Brush: Horse Hair #6 Cream: Rose of Bulgaria AS: Karo As a first shave with this razor, I am very pleased, very smooth and effective. Decided not to push things up and contented myself with only two passes(WTG,XTG) the end result was easy DFS,definitely more mild than Old Type but much more smooth and comfortable!
Saturday Hello good people of the Den. It's been a while since I posted. Couple of months. Just 10 I guess Was a little busy with a transition from being laid off to starting my own business. Up and running now, great feeling. Free at last, something like that. I don't know why, but this Saturday suddenly felt like taking a picture and get back to the Den. So here we go again... Schick E injector Schick blade (9) Semogue 1438 MWF (face lathered, shave stick method) Aqua Velva (M-bomb upgraded) Probably 99% of all shaves since June this razor I used this razor. I can probably do a 3-pass shave with it now with my eyes closed
Saturday: #6 Horsehair Super Speed/7 AM day 6 Pascale SC Tabiano AS Gel Booster Polar Ice AS My Super Speed is from the 1950's and a hell of a DE. This old boy can chop off a tough beard like mine so easily and comfortably when it has the right blade in it. Once again, a big thanks to my dear friend Veli for sending me this Pascale cream. The lather from this stuff is awesome, I love the scent, and although it's not a face-freezer it still has enough menthol in it to be felt. The same is true for the Tabiano gel - it contains a small amount of menthol to cool and refresh the skin. Madame Crackstar wishes I wouldn't wear the Polar Ice aftershave but hey, I love it! (and so does my dog - he always want to lick my face!)

For your amusement. I had 2 hemorrhoidectomies this summer and ended up with a good supply of Tucks Medicated Pads. The other day I read the ingredients and noted it was 50% witch hazel and had some glycerin, alcohol and a couple of other ingredients. So I figure, if it's good enough for my butt, what the heck, I'll try it on my face. They work pretty darn good, it's just an a astringent anyway. I'll use up the remaining supply on my face seeing how I don't need them at the other end anymore. The Clauss was a little harsh this morning. I'll strop it out for next time. Very close shave today but not the smoothest. Have a good one, I have plenty of snow to blow today before I get into the shop. picture hosting
SOTD Saturday 1-12-2013 Merkur 38C Barberpole w/Crystal Proraso PSC Erasmic SC Semogue 820 Boar Thayers Witch Hazel Nivea Replenishing ASB Addidas Dynamic Pulse ASL Another early, busy and long day ahead.
Shower MWF Semogue 830 (still breaking in) DE 89 w/Webber Bulldog Handle Wilkinson and sword Thayer's Witch Hazel Aqua Velva Ice Blue Didn't have much growth since yesterday, must have been a close shave. Just did one WTG pass (with my usual touch up right under the nose)to get a DFS. These Wilkies were incredable. I think they are my best shave yet. Although I was didn't have much growth, and bowl lathered my MWF and got a much better lather than I have been getting as of late. Extremely smooth and comfortable shave this morning, followed it up with a trip to the barber shop to get a nice trim. Nice Saturday morning if you ask me.
