Hi Arley, how did you convert the DVH into a croap?

Azarius Must have had his WHEATies

When these pucks arrived from the Netherlands the packaging was cut open and the pucks where broken apart (thank you very much US custom officials).

I was sick as looking at the broken apart pucks so I thought I would try a little experiment.

I grated the pucks into a cheap plastic container and then started adding small amounts of hot water and started mashing with a fork. I kept adding water until the consistency was that of a croap.

The two 75 gram pucks resulted in about 400 ml of croap that is softer than the Proraso in a tub, but still thicker than a cream.

The next time I make a "croap" I will make a video. It really ended up way better than I expected. Much better results than my first experiment with VDH, KMF and Shea Butter (overly greasy and thick).

This Super Speed is quite simply one of the best razors I have ever used. Fast, comfortable and it delivers a very close shave. The Racer blade did quite well in the SS. My sample of ASP shave cream was a bit dried out but it still produced an amazingly huge and thick lather. I love my home brew Nivea with extra menthol. The Barbon is a nice clean and light finish. The scent is not strong so it will not clash with my cologne. Very enjoyable shave today.

Thanks Arley! It's great to know how you did it. I will likely do this to some products in the future. I am thinking of converting my Irisch Moos shaving stick into a croap.

Gotta love those Brownie's! It's as close to perfect as a razor can be. Old King Gillette pretty much had it nailed when he made these and paired with a modern blade they are outstanding performers! Noticed the Salters Wild Rose and just had to use it this morning as it's been too long. The DUNE really went well with the rose scent to finish this great shave.

    Thursday - another day closer

    Prep: Hot shower
CD: Nothin but the Blues, disc 2
Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Kenya, BLACK
Soap: Daisy Mountain Naturals Spiced Mahogany
    Brush: Omega 10098 Pro

Blade: ASR Platinum Chrome, day 4, 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse, Dickenson's WH, Old Spice cologne, hand strop blade
    'Stache Wax: Steve's Own

I don't use the Stahly that often only because of the huge handle. I does give a great shave, though. I do know a Tech handle will fit so I may put just the Stahly head to use more often.

Great 2 Pass DFS today. The arko I mashed into a bowl and use it to lather in the bowl. New Brush from Ace shaving. Very well put together and had a small amount of scritch which was kinda nice. Not gonna replace my silvertip any time soon but will be put into a rotation. The Clubman Vanilla also came in the mail today and it smelled good in the bottle, Terrible when first put on my face(almost gave a skunk smell) but then faded into a BEAUTIFUL vanilla Old timey barbershop smell.

    • Muhle R89 Razor with Derby Extra Blade (not shown)

I decided to have a bit of a shave off between two different blades today. I thought the comparison would be interesting and it would help speed up the process of sorting through my blades. I shaved the right side of my face with the Dorco blade and the left side with the Derby blade. The two Muhle razors have exactly the same head so the comparison was fair. I was surprised to find that the Dorcos were not as bad as I remember. However, the blade I tried a long time ago was a ST-300 not the ST-301. I actually managed to complete 3 passes with these blades so they are usable. I ended up with BBS- on my cheeks, DFS most everywhere else, and below average on my chin and lower lip area. The Dorco cut a skin blemish so I ended up with a small weeper on the right side of my neck. It turns out that the Derby Extra is the better blade. However, both of these blades were duller than a Feather after three full shaves. On the third pass I had to do extensive skin stretching to avoid a snag-induced cut. I will be PIFing these blades in the not to distant future. All the other stuff in the shave was great.

    Cheers, Lyndon

Good shave, maybe a little too much pressure with the big W&B. I've been using smaller razors and found myself lacking a little" touch" this morning. The love is growing for synthetic brushes, the two I have are just great brushes. I don't know what more a person could want or expect from a brush. Have a good one.
