Some of you will be familiar with the pics I took about this time last year of my collection. They are in a thread here. Since then I've won a few, low more than a few, made some purchases from other collectors (thanks, if you are reading this you know who you are ) and also added some brushes, most of which are not shown here. So I needed more space and last weekend picked up a couple of second hand cabinets, you can see pics of the new cabinets and the old one below: I transferred most of the collection from the old cabinet to the new today but ran out of shelves, will have to get some more made, and ended up having to cram them in with boxed razors still remaining in their boxes but some others displayed a bit more. It will look better when I have the other shelves in and I can display them all with less crowding. The Techs will remain in the old cabinet and I have quite a few in awaiting cleaning up yet. Anyway, you don't want to 'listen' to me you want pics - so here are a few to start: Unfortunately today I discover my DSLR is broken so these are all iPhone pics
Yeah, yeah, I know. They really are still crowded in there. You can't really see what it there can you - are these any better? [sigh] I've have to update my listing of what it stored where now ... Anyway, that is the last of the pics until I get my camera repaired - enjoy!
Sir, you have a beautiful collection. If I had that I probably would not have a hair on my head, heck probably not a hair anywhere. It lloks like they all have origional cases as well.
Thanks to you and the others for your kind words. These ones are all cased, some with shippers etc too. They are too jammed in at present and thus most of the shippers you see still have their sets within them. My uncased ones are in another cabinet - should get a pic of that too and load it up for completeness
Ah, so that's where the Christmas Milord sets ended up. 2nd post, last picture, left hand side. Take a good look guys, those are the rarest Gillette Milord's out there.
I've used many of them. If it is not NOS or in a condition that will be adversely affected by use it has probably gotten a run (or its predecessor has if I've upgraded) and is still in line to be used. Basically I grab a razor, use till I'm bored and then see what takes my fancy next. [irony] I'm using my EDJ89 Barley Chrome at present [/irony]
Sorry, should have included pics of this earlier. The cabinet where it all started, it was going to house ALL my collection...
Really like the Orange and Black synthetic brush. I've re-knotted two of them with TGN finest knots. Very nice collection.
Yes, I actually used that brush for a while. Really tears up a hard soap and makes quite a good lather. The only downside is that it feels like you are lathering your cheek with a toothbrush
Yeah. I wasn't so fond of the synthetic knot myself, but loved the handle. The handles are two piece and will un-screw. With the translucent base, I used a black sharpie to hide the base of the knot when I swapped them out. Turned out nicely. Unfortunately, I gave them away to a devout admirer. IIRC, it's a rubberset 300.
