Friday: #6 Horsehair Super Speed/7 AM day 5 Egyptian Palmolive Menthol SC Anherb AS Conditioner Alt Innsbruck AS Polo Original EDT As far as menthol is concerned, this is one of the coldest and best set-ups you can find. The only thing which stops me from really loving the Egyptian Palmolive Menthol cream is the scent - everything else about it is superb. The Anherb conditioner is not only frigid, it's very moisturizing and healing, and the Alt Innsbruck is in a class of its own!
Well I haven't had time lately to do more than a brief look through of the postings here for the last while. As they say I've been busy as a one armed paper hanger. it seems that now things are a bit more back to normal. The morning shaves have been the all too brief spots of sanity each day. Got to try a number of new, to me, creams that I pretty much liked, still have two more to try. But I had a tub of RazoRock Don Marco that I have been wanting to use. So for the last couple of days that has been the go to. So I put a new Shark Super Chrome blade in the EJ and went to town. The Don Marco produced lovely looking lather which sort of left me underwhelmed in the performance aspect (maybe just my experience) or maybe it was the Shark blade. Today the second day for the blade after three passes the results were definitely that I was standing too far away from the blade. All of this is a shame because from what I can tell I really do like the scent of the Don Marco. Maybe just to be sure I will load a known blade and give the Don Marco one more try. Sounds fair to me.
Shave of the Day (SOTD) Friday January 18, 2013• Prep: Brush soaked in warm water, face washed with Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Cleanser, luke warm shower • Razor: 1930's Bright Nickel Re-plated Gillette Short Comb NEW mounted to iKon Bulldog Handle • Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless (2) • Brush: Vintage Fuller Brush restored with TGN 18mm Super Silvertip Knot • Cream: TOBS Eton College • ASB: Nivea for Men Sensitive Post Shave Aftershave Balm (old formula) • AS: Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue • Post: Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash of Aftershave At the end of it all, the NEW remains my favorite open comb razor, I love the Matador and the Merkur, but nothing is like the NEW. I can always get a great shave with it, especially when paired with a sharp blade like a Feather. Trying out another TOBS cream that Todd had sent me, the Eton College. Oh my, is this a lovely scent. Do they all lather this well?I really should have taken a picture of the lather, as it was spectacular. I am putting my spending on a limit for a while as I have too much as it is, but once my creams get low, I will be buying a few containers of the TOBS as it is by far the best cream I have tried. The Aqua Velva paired very nice with the Eton College, I was going to go for the Canoe, but I am glad I made this choice. I really wish I would have had some Vanilla Clubman as that would have been the perfect finishing touch. I really need to start cleaning my razors before pictures, as I can see some soap scum and finger prints.

After a long day at work this was just what I needed, a 3 pass trip to BBS land Hot shower with an Italian tallow soap i found at the store yesterday (so far so good) Superlathered some Palmolive Cool with the Albus Palmira soap...the almond scent of Albus works great with the Cool, the lather is magnificent and the well known freeze effect of Palmolive is dulled down a bit and comes out after the first pass , subtle and soothing. Shaved with my Razorrock OC and 3rd day Astra SP, and finished it off with a wash with the remaining lather, cold water rinse, alum and a splash (a big splash) of Ralon.
1/18 Friday Everyone have a great weekend. Go Ravens. Prep; Hot shower/Proraso preshave soap Brush; Lujin badger Soap; Burma Razor; Tech Blade; Treet Platinum Two pass DFS.
Friday Evening - 18.01.2013 Its been a while since my last documented shave, actually it has been very little shaving altogether. It has usually gone three to four days between each time I have picked up a razor. This due to illness, "busyness" and to a certain degree laziness. But the shaves I have had, was always very enjoyable. Mostly using the Proraso Sandalwood soap, a Polsilver blade and the bakelite slant bar. All very good stuff. I even considered using the same setup tonight, but I decided to switch the Proraso soap for the Shave Dens lanolin soap. It has been a while since I last used this one, and I quickly discovered why. This soap is scented with Crackling Firewood. A pleasant Sandalwoody smell, but according to my face, it the soap/scent really lives up to its name, It did not take long before I noticed a slight crackling burning sensation. Too bad, cause it is a decent performer. But apparently not for me. The slant bar is my new favourite razor, and is a real treat to use when I have a multiple day growth. My stubble experience a true Louis XVII of France moment, and is thoroughly beheaded in the first pass. An excellent performer. The Polish NOS Polsilver blade is also a treat. Very sharp and smooth, and honourable mention goes to Chris from Shaving.ie. I ordered and received 100 of these. And a few weeks after that I received another 100. A quick email to shaving.ie telling them of their mistake, I received word that I could just keep them. Very generous. Thank you all for watching, and I bid you all good night.
