I used the VDH Deluxe again today and I'm really liking this soap. It's probably the best combination of cushion and slickness of anything I've tried so far (which admittedly isn't much). Pre-shave: warm water towel & VDH lather Lather: VDH Deluxe Razor: Schick Krona Blade: Astra SP (2) AS: Aqua Velva Ice Blue Nice comfortable 2-pass shave. Got closer under my chin but still need some work there to be able to call it a DFS. I resisted the temptation to do any touch-ups though. My weeper red spots from the last couple weeks are finally starting to disappear and I don't want to bring them back.
No I have not tried her Barber Shoppe scent yet. Every artisan's scent differs even if it has the same label. But I have never been led astray with Joanna's soaps I have tried. But I can vouch for Mike's Natural soaps. The skincare is top notch. It is very good at moisturizing and is pretty cheap. The cool part is that the guy makes the soaps in his kitchen so you'll be supporting a small business owner.
Sundays Shave I've been getting unbelievably great shaves all week with my Schick Injector...... But today for the sake of shaking things up a bit...I broke out the "Black Tip Beauty" Do you guys remember her?? This is the legendary 1952 Super Speed Stingraysrock gave me a few years ago... Arko Shave Soap/Omega 10029 1952 Gillette Black Tip Super Speed-Steel Version Perma-Sharp Super d1 Old Spice AS Wow....just Wow!! Simply a soft, gentle great shave in 2 passes...it don't get no better than this...Gillette had a winner...No wonder they captured the hearts and whiskers of so many generations...and still are... The Perma-Sharp Supers were the first blade I tried when I rediscovered TWS years ago....I've yet to try a better DE blade since...My solid favorite. Old Spice AS....the first AS I tried when I shaved the first time in my life...lol....Still my favorite... Arko Shave Stick...ditto...stone-cold favorite....aswell as the Omega Baby-Pro...Lots of favorites here today. Unintentionally became kind of a theme shave...lol
(I told Thorsten that this seems very interesting and that I have some of JoAnna's soaps and I'm proud to say that they are great. I'll try this soap as soon as I can get rid of a bunch of soaps and creams)

Buy from TSD and you'll be supporting a small business owner. What You Might Not Know About The Shave Den
Oh yeah I know about that too, I didn't mean to leave her out. I try to support all small artisan businesses. I would venture to say that I get better shaves from artisan soaps/creams.
I must make a correction; I mis-spoke. All proceeds from the TSD Store go to keep our great community known as The Shave Den up and running.
Well I was going to shave after my shower today, but my mom needed the bathroom and used a ton of hair products, so there was a smog in the bathroom. I should set up an emergency shave area in my room. Anyways, it's not like I had to shave, my whiskers don't grow very fast and there is always tomorrow on my day off from class.
Sunday - 20.01.2013 It has been an interesting day. I had planned on doing a relaxing morning shave today, but since I woke up to a frozen set of water pipes, that plan went out the window. It took a few hours before we managed to thaw up the pipes, but water is now flowing once again in Casa Norseman and I finally got myself a pretty decent shave. Merkur 34C Feather Blades Semogoue Boar Brush Mikes Natural Soap Ogallala Bay Rum with Peppercorn Aftershave Bulldog Aftershave Balm
Ryan, we have 2 bathrooms here - I have mine and Corinne has hers. She can never stop me from having a good shave. In fact, she encourages me to enjoy my shaves. The only thing that she doesn't like are my old-school aftershaves, such as the Booster Mosswood and Pinaud Bay Rum for example.
JoAnna's soaps are really my favorite from any of the artisans that I've bought from. They smell beautiful and give the finest lather, as well as the BEST skincare. I wish I wasn't so tight on money because I would buy some more.
Like the old saying goes, "In with the new, out with the old." I have two lanolin soaps (English Fern & Irish Spring) from her and really should use them more. However, the English Fern makes my face feel hot when I use it so I might be having a reaction with something in it. It sucks because I love how it smells.
I was given soap from The Gentleman's Quarter and it burned me seriously. The lather was good, it smelled nice, but I could not tolerate the burning sensation........Aqui es la vida, mi hermano!
