Tuesday Merkur 34c w/ Wilkie WD 22mm Silvertip Vitos Red Label Floid Vigoroso Great shave after taking a few days off. Vitos lathered well but I didn't realize it was MWF week! I'll have to use that next shave. The Floid was amazing again, I think it may be my new favorite AS. I need to grab a bottle of blue!
8/8 W&B restored by Glen Vie-Long horsehair brush Williams mug soap/Viking Cool superlather Cold water splash Fitjar Miklagard ASC Great shave - very comfortable and enjoyable. I sometimes make superlather and Williams mug soap suits very well as the tallow base.
SOTD Tuesday 2.12.13 Preshave - Hot Shower, Nivea Face Wash Cream - Proraso Sandalwood Brush - WD 24mm Silvertip Blade - Feather Razor - Gillette Slim Twist A/S - Alum Block, Nivea Balm, Aqua Velva So I finally found a razor that I like the feathers in. Its a bit more mild of a razor than my 1952 SS but with the feather blade makes it a dream to shave with. 3 passes plus touchups gave a DFS to remember. So close to BBS but I still have trouble with my lower neck around the adams apple.

Thats one of my favorite razors...the idea of being able to open it and hold it in the same hand at the sametime as you load it with the other hand in ingenius and convenient...and the one you have I think is the best looking handle for those models....Congratulations....That razor There's a TV commercial for that razor that you have to find...maybe the best razor commercial ever...Its a take off on James Bond, and the Secret Agent in the Tux is using that exact model...its on the web, I've seen it here awhile back...hilarious!
Wednesday's Shave Arko Shave Stick/Omega 10029 Sedef Shavette/Rapira SS d1 1938 Senator/Rapira SS d1 1955 Schick Hydro-magic/EMS d3 Arko Nem moisturizer/Old Spice AS/Rebul Lavenda Colonia Note to self...NEVER use Rapiras in the Shavette...this guy was hopping around and tugging...Whew!! My bottom lip area and neck are red enough to warrant staying 'inside' today... After 2 irritating passes I tried a much needed clean-up pass with the Senator...didn't work...face was too sore.. Schick to the rescue....got a great comfortable pass with it that left me BBS....Thank you Col.... Tomorrow it's back to the Sedef Perma-Sharp Super combo for first 2 passes with a Schick clean-up.... PS; It's now 1 1/2 hours later...the redness is going away...and most the tenderness has gone...but the BBS results are undeniable...I take it! But the Perma-Sharps do give a much smoother shave in this shavette...
Very nice shave this morning. First time out with the WSP HMW knot. This knot is very dense and luxurious and is a real pleasure to use. The loft is temporarily set at 50mm and by the feel this morning will probably end up pretty close to there. This will be my last personal brush for a while, I'm just going to enjoy what I have. Have a good one. online photo storage
Wednesday: #6 Horsehair Super Speed/Goal day 3 Bozzano Sensitive SC Svoboda AS Balsam Alt Innsbruck AS YSL Pour Homme EDT Not only does my skin feel cool and smooth after this great shave, it also feels so soothed and protected. This cheap Brazilian cream lathers so well, smells nice, and gives a terrific cooling sensation - in fact, cooler than I expected. So many times I've stated how much I love the Svoboda balsam and the Alt Innsbruck.
Proraso PSC Mitchell's Wool Fat SS Omega Pro 48 Boar Brush Gillette Tech OC Feather Blade (2) Baxter ASB Alt Innsbruck ASL I just love the way the Gillette New shaves. Getting a super close shave is an effortless affair. This OC head is pretty much a perfect match for my beard. It is so comfortable to use I have to be careful not to apply any unnecessary pressure or I risk getting a bit of razor burn. My face feels ridiculously smooth. (I just felt it... again! LOL). Third day with the MWF and so far it has worked well with every brush I have thrown at it. The Pro 48 had no trouble working up a great lather. The Baxter ASB has great skin care and I love the scent of the Alt Innsbruck. It's different, but nice. The first time I used it I thought I could detect a base note of PEZ candy! I know, I know... I am not very good at describing scents! Cheers, Lyndon
Shave of the Day (SOTD) Wednesday February 13, 2013• Prep: Brush soaked in hot water, hot shower • Razor: Matador Toro Mastiff Corto • Blade: Croma Diamant Stainless (2) • Brush: Vintage Stanley Home Products restored with TGN 22mm Fan High Density Finest Two-Band Badger Knot • Cream: SuperMax Ulimate 3 Triple Action Classic • ASB: Nivea for Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm (old formula) • AS: Brut Attitude • Post: Cold Water Rinse, splash of aftershave. I rarely shave with the same razor for two days in a row but one good shave deserved another. I decided to pair it with the Croma blade as it is fast becoming one of my favorites. Another two pass shave with light shave produced BBS results. For the money, I do not think there is a better balm on the market than the Nivea. It is readily absorbed, never feels sticky or tacky, and the scent is light enough to pair with almost any other aftershave.
Today's shave - same as yesterday's except 3rd use on the Wilkinson blade. Nice close 3-pass shave with no touch-ups but not completely smooth on my jawline or neck. I'll call it a DFS though.
