Tuesday: Axe Chilled Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/7 AM day 2 New Proraso Green SC Axe Chilled AS Gel Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash YSL Pour Homme EDT Another beautiful and very comfortable shave this morning - the 7 AMs are really sharp and smooth and they have good longevity. The new Proraso Green cream is a pleasure to lather up with, and it has more of a cooling effect than the older version. This Axe Chilled jazz turned out to be a great buy after all, and the Penguin has always been a favorite of mine.

Proraso PSC LEA Menthol SC Frank Finest Brush Muhle R101 OC Razor (like R41) Crystal Blade (3) Nivea Sensitive ASB (with added menthol crystals) Barbon ASL A very, very difficult shave with the R101 today. And likely my last. Does this razor shave close? Absolutely. Is is comfortable to use? Absolutely not! The R101 is a black-handled version of the R41 "tooth comb" razor. I haven't used the R101 very much because I find it very hard to use. I just cannot get the razor to shave properly. Part of the problem is I have VERY hard whiskers. With the handle held close to my face it feels like the whiskers are being torn off my face. With the handle held high, the razor really digs into my skin. For me, there is no happy medium. There is no "sweet spot". I managed to do a three pass shave without cutting myself, but what a hassle! I can get just as close with my Titan razor with the H1 head and it is far easier to use. I will be getting rid of this razor and I am a little bummed out about that. I love the look of it and I wanted a partner for my R106 which is Muhle's black and chrome safety bar razor. I haven't decided whether I will sell this razor or just PIF it. Either way... it's gone! Should be nice to switch to a Tech tomorrow. Cheers, Lyndon

Slim actually knocked me out!! 2 passes + touch-up on #8 for everything rendered an irritation free, very smooth BBS...Baby's Butts are crying in a jealous rage everywhere.... I had originally thought I would clear away the WTG pass with the Slim and follow up buffing with my Super-Speed....But the first pass left a beautiful DFS in its wake, and absolutely no irritation...so out of fairness to my old Slim friend...I finished with her...and the ATG buffing was very nice indeed...I'm afraid she has missed the action because after her performance today, she will be getting some serious usage again I believe...

The axe jelly is indeed... fantastic. I don't know why I like it so much especially because I have an affinity for stingy, tightening splashes. To me when you put the gel on, it feels thick. It reminds me of say a facial peel mask. Then it dries to almost nothing, besides a wondeful layer of chilly moisturization.

Tuesday Typical start to the day with a hot shower. Facial prep from Dove Face wash. Soap choice today was Vergulde Extra, lathered with a Semogue 1460. Razor and blade change today, Cadet mongoose paired with Super max. Two passes= a wonderful DFS
Today's shave left me feeling a little rough. Prep: hot shower, Axe Cooling Face Wash. Brush: TGN Grade A. Razors: W&B 4/8" along with my Gillette Ball End Tech to clean up. Blade: Personna Lab. Soap: Proraso White. Post: cold water rinse, towel off, cold water rinse, Barbon AS, Nivea ASB. I got a small nick on my upper lip area and my neck feels a little tore up. I just sense a ton of irritation coming. So much for false motivation to shave my neck with a straight. Hopefully I am all healed up by Thursday, so I can be clean shaved on my interview. On the plus side, my face is wonderfully cooled down, and I got a BBS on my face with ease.

Good for you man...stick with it......I was afraid maybe a dozen of the worse cuts; while I was getting my straight chops together; were going to leave scars for life...Whew!! But everything healed...and the shaves got fantastic...and my technique with all my razors has gotten much better!! It took me 6 weeks to get it together....But I think I might be a slow learner... This too shall pass and the great shaves are just around the corner....keep smiling...
