Once again, a favorite shaving day of the week for me is coming - what day is that?

Plenty of icicles will be going into my face from this shave - the Gatsby facial wash by itself is colder than a lot of creams and soaps, and it smells nice and gives great skincare. Next, we have the Gada Cool Mint cream which is probably the CHEAPEST shaving item sold here in Montreal, and this lovely-scented cream lathers so beautifully and freezes like the Arctic. After that, some 444 balsam will add a big third coating of iciness, and finally some Barbon aftershave will make me feel frozen until nightime!

I did the initial 2 passes and received a 4.5 from my wife so I grabbed a quick clean up pass with the Schick and brought it up to a 'Perfect' Score...

That first pass with the Slim on #8 does do an almost unbelievable 1st pass...Chin and cheeks were BBS...the neck area and moustace side area requires the type of buffing that the Schick is so perfect for....

 

My friend, you enjoy every minute this week!! We expect a full report on the 3 generation of the Stroker Boys Reunion Shave....sound super hip...time to pull out the best of the best, soaps, creams, and such....enjoy!!

 

Yep! It will be fun to be having a shave with my Son and Grandson. I turned them on to the wetshaving scene and they love it! (Sure beats those carts in price and performance!) lol

 

I don't know if it's love or infatuation but I'm really into this Tabac shaving cream. I've been getting superb shaves with it and great skin care.

Took the weekend off in anticipation if a great BBS mentholated shave this morning.

Menthol Monday - 11.3.2013

• Prep: shower, VITOS pre/post
• Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable [8, 5, 5]
• Blade: SuperMax super platinum (1)
• Brush: WSP Monarch HMW
• Cream: Palmolive Cool
• Post: alum, Thayers unscented w/ TSD M-bomb
• Aftershave: Osage Rub, TSD SubZero AS milk

I almost forgot I still have a sample bottle of TSD SZ milk so I applied it after Osage Rub. My eyes were tearing up from all the menthol.

 

Wash: Anthony Glycolic Facial Cleanser
Lather: Jack Black Supreme Cream
Aftershave: Witch Hazel/Rum/Aloe/glycerin mix followed by unrefined shave butter

Razor: Gillette SuperSpeed - flare tip
Blade: Ladas (2)
Brush: Vulfix 660S - Medium

Jack Black Supreme Cream does work up a great lather, but a lack of any scent that I can detect makes it rather boring. I'll finish up the samples I have, but I won't buy any when they're gone.

I'm just starting to try out USB as an after shave balm at night to see what difference it makes. The USB has already helped smooth my rough elbows and gotten rid of some eczema. My face feels a bit greasy after applying it so I'm not confident this will be an ongoing thing, but I'll try it for a week.

 

Prep: Hot shower, Axe Cooling Face Wash, Billy Jealousy scrub.
Brush: WD Silver tip.
Razor: Gillette Ball End Tech.
Blade: Personna Med Prep.
Cream: Godrej Menthol Mist and Barbon.
Post: Cold water rinse, Thayer's WH Lavender, Axe Cooling Aftershave.

Today's shave was almost a disaster. The Godrej Menthol Mist was NOT a good choice for me. This shouldn't dissuade people from trying it, but I hated it. I loved the face freezing effect it had, but it was too hard to lather, had almost NO protection, and wasn't very slick. I managed to shave my face, but when I got to my chin there was too much tugging. I didn't want to deal with it so I just rinsed it off and lathered up some Barbon. I definitely had to use some witch hazel today even though it probably won't save me from having irritation. Oh well, I know not to use Godrej anymore.

 

Wow, that's surprising as I find Godrej to lather easily and be very slick and protective.

 

I know it's weird how these things work. I added a ton of water, extra cream, and spent more time than usual lathering. Oh well, I won't be holding onto the Godrej and I know it will find a good home soon.

 

My friend, I feel awful that the Godrej Menthol didn't work for your pleasure because it gives me tons of some of the richest and best face-freezing lather I ever experienced. Wow, YMMV really does apply here. I also feel I may haved failed you since it was I who pushed you to try it. Thank goodness the Barbon cream delivered for you. I'm so sorry again.
