On Thursday we got a ton of snow...and its still coming down! :S Saturday Shave I decided to bring out my abandoned stick of Arko since there has been so much talk of it. Unfortunately im still not sold on it. It is nice in every way but skin care. For me it is fairly drying. Nonetheless I still got a great DFS!

Slightly more aggressive than the Flare-Tip, they have no trouble delivering the BBS goods. I am late to the "soap only week" but I will use one tomorrow... maybe Tabac. Cheers, Lyndon

I did a lot of careful touch-ups this fine Saturday morning after a traditional three pass shave. In particular practicing my lather and my blade buffing technique with no pressure. Nearly a BBS but nicked the corner of my lip a little, but it didn't bleed by the time the shave was over. I have a trouble area on my upper lip, an old acne scar that almost got cut, but it was okay. Many times I only do one pass over it and its fine and still looks cleanly shaven. I feel like a million bucks! Still can't get over how close and smooth my chin and neck gets with DE shaving.
I too had my first Arko shave today. Don't care for the smell much but it shaved pretty well. DFS for a rainy day out mowing tall wet spring grass!
Not pictured: Mikes Peppermint & Rosemary First time with a Polsilver SI and was extremely pleased, also, the Floid Vigoroso... Superb scent and skin care, the menthol kick was very pleasant as well.
So its didnt go from looking like almost spring, with everythjng 1/2 melted, to this overnight? Lol! (Sigh... ) That's a fancy looking razor. What type/brand is it? I like the look of the handle!
Tabac SS Semogue SOC Cherry Wood Boar Titan Razor - M1 Head Boots Brand Generic Blade (1) The Titan with the M1 (mild) head gave a great shave. And the razor was easy to use too. I have had the Boots brand blades for a long time but haven't tried them because I thought they might not be very good. Actually, the blade was quite sharp and performed well. Tabac soap is one of the best and it was a pleasure to use it again today. Cheers, Lyndon
Sunday: Axe Chilled Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Dovo Bismarck 5/8 Williams Menthol SC Axe Chilled AS Gel Barbon AS JHL Cologne Definitely the best shave I've had all week - a straight razor makes the difference. I'm sure I spent at least 45 minutes doing this shave between my prep, the lathering, and the actual work. It sure was worth the time and effort. The Williams Menthol cream apparently was discontinued so when this tube is empty, man will I miss it. The Axe Chilled stuff and the Barbon aftershave are must-haves for me.
Sunday Preshave: Hot shower with goats milk soap Soap: TSD Lanolin - Iced Eucalyptus! Brush: Pooped Puppy Silvertip Razor: Lord/Jagger Blade: Feather (3) AS: Thayer's with hazel, followed by Clubman Vanilla! Fantastic! Loving these Feather blades! I think the Feather has just taken over the #1 spot in my den - edging out the long-time king Personna Lab... Now to see hhow it performs in the Weber...
Sunday 3/17/13 Tried a new cocktail today. Super-uber lather! Hot Towel Cocktail (Arko, Proraso Green, Liquid Lanolin, glycerin) Tweezerman Badger GEM 1912 Ted Pella GEM blade (1) Allum WH Osage Rub Got a great close shave, but with a little irritation, could be technique though. The lather was exceptional, very very slick and cushioning.
