I've been having a lot of spare time on work lately (overall recession is taking a toll on th edental industry ). So I ordered a 3$ Gold Dollar just to keep me occupied for some time. So this is what has been done by now (meaning today ) I guess it is a bit rough and crude since I do everything using a hand piece we have in the lab (something like a sophisticated dremmel tool). I hope you like it, and I will keep you posted on the progress
Me too, although I'm having some difficulty with that, mostly the lack of proper tools. I found some nice oak wood but that turned out to be too thick and my efforts of cutting it through the middle or splinting it weren't all that good
Very nice. I've got a couple of GDs I plan on customizing, so I might try something similar. I look forward to seeing what you do with the scales.
I did a little sawing and sand papering today and this is roughly what I got A lousy pic with the original scales And one a bit less lousy with the blade The greyness to the bottom of the scales is due to the camera and lightning , the wood is oak and I'm thinking of a dark brown finish while retaining the grain
Looking really nice there! They need some work, but GD's make for a good blade blank for str8 razor projects
Story of my life my man. Scales look awesome though! Good job. The next try will be even better!! Unless you peaked on that one, then well....
