View attachment 36827 View attachment 36827 I wish that spring would take hold here in Montreal because very honestly, I'm so fed up with this chilly, damp, and lousy weather. Here's a great set-up which will be perfect for: Menthol Monday: Gatsby Ice Cooling Gel Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/new Rapira Egyptian Ingram SC Anherb AS Conditioner Osage Rub AS Azzaro Pour Homme Deo Stick Azzaro Pour Homme EDT Like I was telling my good friend Graeme, the fact that I chose Ingram for Menthol Monday was because of his inspiration. This is the Egyptian version which has the same terrific scent and lather, but a stronger cooling effect and a better consistency. The Anherb/Rubby Dubby Doo combination ensures a frozen face for most of the day.

Prep: Hot shower Cream: TOBS Mr Taylor sample Brush: Omega Mighty Midget Razor: G8 Injector Blade: Schick (1) passes: WTG, XTG, ATG Post: Cold water rinse Aftershave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue Cologne: Cuba Just got this injector over the weekend, so of course I had to use it. First time for the Mr Taylor, it made a great lather but had very little scent (I prefer scented creams). A great shave with no irritation. I always get a smooth shave with injectors, they just aren't quite as close as the SE's or DE's but they sure feel good.

SOTD 4-15-2013 Gillette NEW LC with Astra SP Proraso PSC C.R. Salter's Wild Rose SC GT G4 Scuttle Omega Boar Thayer's Witch Hazel Nivea Replenishing ASB British Sterling Cologne Noticed PanChango's Klar Kabinett SS this morning and got the urge for Rose scent. It's great to be home and using the Scuttle this morning and the warmth of the scuttle makes the Rose scent even more fantastic! The Gillette NEW is an oldie but a goodie. It's the normal "Copper Top" after so many years of service but, darn if it doesn't look like one of those fancy Rosegold Muhles' that are available now of days. lol
Monday morning. Doctor’s appt. this morning. Then off to work. Need a good shave to get started. Axe Chilled facial wash/V05 conditioner Shave Secret Barbasol Soothing Aloe Van Der Hagen Boar Brush Astra Superior Platinum (1) Edwin Jagger DE89L razor Witch Hazel Captain’s Choice Bay Rum For another gratifying BBS! A good shave helps me get done what needs to be done. A three pass with touch-ups. I’ve said this before, but while buffing it helps to pretend I’m shaving the Barbasol off my face, rather than the stubble. When I aim for that feeling, I can hear that stubble being cut! I can’t wait to try C.O. Bigalow cream in a tube. The will be my next purchase at the beginning of May. I have to hold myself to a monthly budget to stay in control! Aces!
SOTD Cetaphil face wash TOBS Sandalwood SC Merkur 34C HD Super-max Titanium 4 passes Cold water splash, Clubman AS, Clubman Talc on body, iced Nivea Sensitive balm Murray's Superior pomade Very nice shave this morning. Tried a new technique for me, on the second and third XTG passes. I went true east to west, all the way across the face and neck, and west to east all the way across the other way. Then on the 4th pass ATG, I started at the bottom of my neck and went all the way up to the face. Long even strokes. Had good results, YMMV. Let's make it through another Monday friends.
First shave in a week!!! TSD Preshave TSD Iced Pink Grapefruit cream Semogue 1305 & Dirty Bird Bill Bowl '58 Gillette TV Special Feather Blade 3 passes Alum WH Aqua Velva face is BBS and I feel like a new man!!!
Thanks! I haven't tried the Klar (I want to but, just haven't found the opportunity to order some. I have heard some great reviews of it as a Rose Scent SS.) The Slater's is very nice and has a pleasant rose scent (not too sweet) that stays with you for hours. The warmth of your body when active brings the scent out. Using it in the warm scuttle really activates the rosey scent during the shave process. It comes in a 5.8 oz tub (which lasts forever). I've had mine for 3-4 years and still haven't used it up yet.
Monday! Prep: hot washing cloth Brush: Travel King boar Soap: vintage Williams Razor: Shake Sharp silver Blade: Gillette carbon Super Blue (#2) Shave: 3-pass + touch-up (1 shake between passes) Post: hot water rinse, cold water rinse, 3 shakes, load blade in Shake Sharp bakelite, DVH alum Apart from the razor: exactly the same set-up. The silver Shake has a different balance than the bakelite Shake. I think it's also a tad less agressive. Nice shave, though!
