The Toggle is available in D1. I think it is only available in D1 and F4, my birth quarter. Yes I did get one.
I saw that one. I have an alert set for toggles and aristocrats. I couldn't tell if that one was D1 or not.
I've got a mint Aristocrat with case as well as a shaver grade. What I'm trying to find at a good price is a Gold Slim Adjustable Aristocrat. I have one with the case but the guard bars have no plating left on them. Yes I have way more razors than I need. I don't mind replated, my toggle will be one day. I managed to get it at a decent price but it does need replating.
Did you watch that Knack auction at ebay? It sold for $21+$3.99 shipping. Man since I got mine around two tears ago the prices have gone up!! I paid like $5 or $8 dollars for mine..Theres another one up now for $9.99+$2.99 shipping, with 2d 10h left and no bids as of now, it's a 1968(N1). Hope you can get the one you want soon...Good luck.. I don't know how much you've bought from ebay, but when I was hunting razors big time I found that spending ALOT of time searching and trying to be patient helps,"BUT" you need to be ready to "ACT"when you see what you want, sometimes just being first to bid makes a difference..... Also if there are no other bidders its ok to make a B.I.N. offer....
Well I just won on Ebay for the 1958 D1 Toggle. No controlling the beast until I got the Birth Year/Birth Quarter razor. I may just shave with it on my birthdays. It's so nice I don't want to mess it up; that is, scratch it or break it. I'm 55 now. If I wait ten years and wet shaving continues gain in popularity, who knows, it may just be worth something . It looks like my 1959 E4 Fatboy is a prime candidate for my daily shaver.
I had to strike while the iron was hot. I don't know when another 1958 D1 Toggle will come available in collector condition.
Thanks. It's not NOS. It's MINT. So the yearly use won't drop the value I don't think as long as I am very very careful with it. If it was NOS, I would only be able to look at it. Would like it if others chimed in on occasional (yearly) use.. Thanks again.
