SOTD Thursday 4/25 Prep: Hot shower, Cetaphil face wash, TSD ISZ PSB Music: Miike Snow, "Miike Snow Deluxe EP" Razor: 46 Aristocrat Blade: Super-max Titanium Soap: TSD Lanolin Iced Barbershop Brush: AOS Pure Badger Shave: Face lather, 3 passes Post: Cold water splash, Thayer's Lavender WH Pomade: Murray's Superior for base hold, Murray's Super Light on top for shine Cologne: D&G The One After a pretty bad day where everything went wrong, it was great to have a relaxing shower and a smooth irritation free shave. Face lathering the TSD Lanolin is a new must for me, it seems to provide more cushion for the razor, and I will continue to use this method. Going to have to buy some Super-max Titanium blades in bulk now, I've found they are THE blade for me. Now to relax with some dinner and TV. Good evening fellow shave denizens.
Thursday 4/25 Pre: Mild facial scrub with Shea Moisture Shave Facial Scrub, steamy towel, Anthony Logistics Pre Shave Oil Razor: Merkur Futur (still on 1.5; will up to "2" next shave...) Blade: Astra SP (and the sky opened up...) Cream: C E Bigelow Brush: FS Best Badger Shave: 3 easy passes and touch up Post: Warm wash, styptic pencil, cool towel, Oil of Olay Toner, Shea Moisture Skin Tonic; raw Shea Butter This was probably the best shave I've had, to date. The Futur and the Astras just WORKED for me. It was such a great combo and it made me very comfortable immediately. When the blade touched my skin I didn't know it was there. I pulled it away and checked to see if it was loaded correctly. I did something different tonight: I didn't watch so much as I listened and felt while I was shaving. I could hear when I'd cleaned the spot well and a quick rub proved it. The touch up was easy. A beautiful BBS - effortlessly. No irritation. NOW I love shaving!!

Does this stuff ever smell nice and lather up like a maniac, and it gives wonderful skincare with a slight cooling effect. Today's shave was very, very smooth and enjoyable. (Sorry, no pics!) Have a great weekend, folks!

Friday morning! Axe Chilled facial wash/V05 Conditioner Shave Secret Barbasol Original Schick E2 Injector with Schick blade (1) Witch Hazel Captain’s Choice Bay Rum A dang near BBS! Another smooth and pleasant shaving experience, brought to me by this little Schick Injector and a can of Barbasol. I’ve found myself quite attached to the original Barbasol (which I hadn’t used in years), that scent brings back childhood in a big way. That was what my dad used and still uses today. I remember him and his Trac II, hitting that razor on the sink to shake it out. That’s what I woke up to during all the years of my childhood! The sound of him hitting his Trac II on the edge of the sink. I’m now on the hunt for a ‘70s Trac II (for nostalgia but also to use for old times’ sake time to time). But wow, this Injector is amazing and I keep coming back to it. I want to collect Injectors whenever I get a chance. It was a three pass today. I had more time and it’s Friday so I put a new blade in and went to town. One of the things that keeps me coming back to this injector is the ease of going against the grain, with no irritation as long as the blade is good. I’ve been getting a consistent stubble-free neck all seven days on one blade. It’s getting easier to find that sweet spot in the angle. I find myself trying various angles on different parts of my face, as sometimes I need more aggression, if I make a mistake it’s rare I get blood. If I do, it’s a small weeper that disappears by the end of the shave. Thank you Col. Schick! I salute you. Aces!
Great shave today. I really like this adjustable, and it was a steal at 7 dollars. I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!
