SOTN 4/26/13 I missed my Van der Hagen Boar? Well I guess I did because I while buying injector blades at the only store within 30 miles sells them, I picked up a white handled brush. Broke it in on my palm for a few lathers and used it tonight. Hot Wet Wash Cloth Tabac Schick Type E2 Injector Schick Blade (1) Warm Rinse Cold Rinse WH Barbon AS RSC PS Balm Mildly irritated on my neck after tonight's shave, but not too bad. Due to technique I'm sure. The white VdH boar seemed to be better than the blue handle brush that comes in the kit. Seemed softer. I face lathered and it actually felt really good.

Saturday: Axe Chilled Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/Rapira day 6 Williams Menthol SC Anherb AS Conditioner Floid Classic AS Once again it was time for another Cracky Wacky Ticky Tacky Menthol Extravaganza and I used some great frigid products. The Axe Chilled wash started the ball rolling, and the Williams Menthol cream (which is sadly discontinued) hit me like a ton of menthol bricks, and the Anherb conditioner which is also great for soothing and healing cuts or irritations gave me another powerful menthol punch, and the Floid Classic aftershave completed the freeze. Except for a very small weeper just above my chin, this was a perfect shave.

Muhle R41-13 - Weber Bulldog handle Gillette Silver Blue 24mm TGN Finest Fan - Black & Gold Oscar11 handle (Thanks Steve) Klar Kabinett Alum Superior 70 Fantastic shave today. I am really liking the R41-13 on the Weber Bulldog handle. I think they may stick together for a while. It is a shame that I primarily use boar brushes as the TGN finest set in a very comfortable black and gold handle gifted to me by Steve (Oscar11) is a great brush. I really do need to use it more often as it whipped up a really nice lather of Klar. Anyway, thanks Steve. Great shave to start the weekender...

SOTD 27 April 2013 PreShave: Hot towel, then Proraso pre/post Soap/Cream: TOBS Sandalwood, uberlathered with C.O. Bigelow in a G20. Brush: 24mm TGN Grade A knot in a handle PIF'd by Oscar11 Razor: Dovo Flowing Strop: Star Shaving 3" Big Daddy Chestnut PostShave: Thayers WH, Alum, Ogalla Bay Rum AS This was my 3rd shave with the Flowing. I did a WTG, then an XTG, then used my wet hands with lather to create a slag to do some ATG touchup. It ended up being a DFS, and I am loving this new razor. After a cold water rinse, Thayers, and an Alum rub all over, I grabbed the Ogalla Bay Rum. I really like the Bay Rum, it burns a bit at first, but I don't mind that. I wish that it had a bit more staying power. The only other Bay Rum I have used was St Johns, which the scent lasted much longer. Being from Maine I might have to get some Kramperts.
I was pleasantly surprised and completely impressed with this blade. Very sharp and very smooth, just like I like 'em.
SOTD 4-27-2013 '59 Fat Boy @7 w/Astra SP Proraso PSC Al's Bomb SC - Boheme GT G4 Scuttle Omega Boar Thayer's Witch Hazel Nivea Replenishing ASB Aqua Velva Musk ASL/Cologne My Fat Boy has been buried in the razor drawer for a long long time. I have been using the modern type razors more lately and the vintage stuff doesn't get the love that it should as of late. This is a great classic razor which I actually bought before all the hype and the outrageous prices. It is a good solid razor with the ability to suit any beard condition from mild to wild. It is a must have for any shave cabinet. BTW, I just love Al's Boheme SC !
Gillette Slim Adjustable Wilkinson Sword DVH Boar Ogallalla Bay Rum and Sandalwood Stick Ogallalla Bay Rum and Sandalwood AS I can feel that the DVH brush is starting to break in a little more. Its turning into a pretty good travel brush.

Saturday Hot shower TOBS St. James (sample) face lathered with TGN 22mm Super Silvertip Wilkinson bonded single blade cartridge razor 3 passes Masters Bay Rum The St. James is a fine cream, but I think I prefer the scent of the Sandalwood. The Wilkinson bonded shaves like an injector, but it's very light so you can't just rely on the weight of the head. I prefer the injectors, but this will be a great travel razor to put in my carry-on. The shave could have been a little closer though.
Saturday! Axe Chilled facial wash/V05 Conditioner Shave Secret Barbasol Original Schick E2 Injector with Schick blade (2) Witch Hazel Gillette Cool Wave AF For a BBS! Didn't expect a BBS but it snuck up on me. Thought for sure I'd have irritation after my numerous touch-ups this morning, but all is fine! Aces!
