TSD Lanolin soap is incredible! It lathers like Arko or Proraso (easiest lather makers for me) and of course the scent is amazing good.
Tuesday 05/07 To start the morning ritual a hot shower, followed up with facial scrub with Axe cooling The Semogue Owner's Club whipped up super lather from a puck of blue Haslinger soap. Day four for the "Fatboy", Wikinson Sword {black}, delivered a superior DFS. A generous splash of Colonia Road Opener

The 7 O' Clock blade felt funny today, like the cutting edge wasn't contacting my skin consistently. I'm continually amazed how much variance there is between brands.

Vintage week Tuesday E2 injector Vintage Schick (made in USA) blade (2) Trumpers Violet sample Ever-Ready 79 restored with TGN Nylon knot 3 pass shave Lab Series AS The razor pulled a bit today. I have been disappointed in this vintage blade. I don't know whether to try a different blade in the E2 next or load a vintage blade in my Hydro-Magic and see how it does.

For some reason I've never clued in to the fact that Gillette made aftershave. I've been on an aftershave kick lately, so I bought some today after I read your post. I will try it tomorrow morning.

15 minutes ago - one of my best shaves! Changed to a Personna Platinum blade for the first time... EXCELLENT - smooth, effortless shave. Also changed the order of my shave: WTG, ATG, XTG. It's much easier for me to go against the grain than across the grain. There's much less irritation that way. This has to be my new order. DFS+ Didn't want to risk another pass and ruin such a great shave trying to get BBS. Now I can relax and sleep... Pre: Mild scrub with my usual Shea Moisture Scrub, warm rinse, steamy towel, Anthony Logistics Pre-Shave Oil Razor: Merkur Futur (on 2 for all passes - forgot to adjust down and didn't need to) Blade: Personna Platinum (my new favorite in the Futur, at this time) Brush: FS Best Badger Cream: Arko Moist (LOVE this stuff! Very nice smell and makes a wonderful lather) Robert Becker Scuttle (first time... made my routine so much easier, not having to put the bowl in a sink of hot water and rinse the blade in there, too...) Post: Warm rinse, styptic pencil (barely felt it), cool rinse, Oil of Olay Toner, Anthony Logistics A/S Balm GOOD night!
SOTN 5/7/2013 Hot wet wash cloth Tabac Vie Long Horse/Badger GEM G Bar GEM Razor (Walgreens) Warm Rinse Cold Rinse WH Spray Axe "Shield" PS Balm First shave with a G Bar. This razor has been one of those razors that I just wanted from the minute I saw it. I love the design. The angled bottom just looks tough to me, like a 57 Chevy or the rake of an old Fairlane front end. I love my 1912, and hoped the G Bar would be as good. It did not disappoint. A bit more aggressive than a 1912, but just as comfortable of a shaver. I love it and am glad I found this Gem of a GEM. Oh and the Axe Shield Balm is really good too!
Changed out the vintage blade with a chinese Schick blade and got a great shave. I'll try another vintage Schick blade in a different razor sometime, if it's no good I'll give up on them. Wade & Butcher D.R. Harris Windsor. 22mm Omega boar knot Very nice shave this morning. I'm pretty fussy about scents but I really like Harris Windsor. It's a great soap, love the scent and performance. I've always liked Omega's boar knots and plan on making a few traditional barbershop handles for a couple of them (not what's pictured). I've been experimenting with badger for the last couple of years but a good boar is hard to beat. For the first shave with this brush, I didn't lose a hair and it didn't even smell to bad. Have a good one.

Wednesday Gillette #77 Persona Plat. SOC Badger De Vergulde Hand (extra fris) Proraso splash Axe Chilled Gel Im getting very comfortable with the #77, I am hitting the sweet spot almost the entire time. Also, this was the first go with the SOC; the brush has more scrirch to it than expected, but I am used to Simpson's best and Manchurian...spit makes sense. It isn't uncomfortable though, and on the second pass I didn't notice it as much. This brush is nice though! It holds a bunch of lather and releases it well. I am happy with it.
The clove in the shave oil goes really well with the clove in the Clubman Rum aftershave. Today's shave could not have been better. Thinking about skipping work to see the Red's game rubber match :/ We'll see. Have a great day.
