Monday Prep: Quick facewash with Matas Men Sensitive face wash with a swift soak in a hot cloth. I didn't have time for more soaking today. Brush: Semogue 1520 boar. Lather: Haslinger's Ewe Milk soap wipped up in my precious IKEA bamboo bowl. Such an impulsive bowl buy that I've become very fond of! Beats my expensive ceramics.. Razor: Mühle R89. Blade: Wilkinson Black on it's third shave. Still no significant change in feel, still feels sharp and smooth. Post: Cold water and alum block, followed by cold water. Finished off with Nivea Men Sensitive ASB. Todays shave was a speedy one with focus on not slacking the technique and still getting it over with fast (visitors arriving any minute..). DFS with no sting from the alum.. I think I'm getting to like this Wilkinson more and more. Such a shame it's twice the price as the Shark SS I normally use. Anyhow, 15 minutes in total from start to clean countertop and fresh face. Great!
5/8 Henckel's Twin Tabac SC 22mm Omega boar Nice , smooth and close shave this morning. Nearing the end of my tube of Tabac but I have one waiting to go. I'm not a fan of Tabac shaving soap but the cream is good stuff (just my opinion). I've changed my shaving technique a little but I'll share that a little later in the week when there is more time. Man... this crème is a head scratcher. I HATE HATE HATE that it does not lather. HATE IT. But on the other hand... the skin care is the best of anything I own. It does have menthol, so I am keeping in the spirit of menthol Mondays. Knowing it doesn't lather, and knowing I've had it for two years, I soaked my brush and dipped that sukka deep in there, and slathered like a lib. Great cool shave even though I need long pants and a sweatshirt. Have a wonderful week everyone.

Working on technique to get better results ATG above my lip on the third pass. Too easy to irritate the skin. Good results today. FYI - the photo may be confusing. I put a puck of TSD lanolin soap into an empty container from TSD Wheat cream.

Monday, May 13, 2013 Pre: hot shower, Kiehl's Ultimate Man Body Scrub Soap Brush: EJ, Pure Cream: CO Bigelow Razor: '71 Black Beauty (3 passes on 2) Blade: Derby (3) Post: Pinaud's Bay Rum, Crabtree & E. West Indian Lime ASB I'm finding that the CO Bigelow (Proraso) is becoming my go-to cream. It lathers easily with either of my brushes, feels great on my face, and doesn't dry me out the way some other products do. After missing a couple days of shaving, it felt great to clean up today, and I used the Pure brush for a little extra exfoliation. The Derby blade is doing pretty well, although to me it feels a bit more draggy (?) than the Astras. Good, satisfying 3-pass shave. My daughter is making a guest appearance in the pic, upside-down in the reflection of the chrome. She likes playing around in the bathroom while I shave. Have a great week everyone!
