I turned the slim to 7 and got a very smooth, close shave. The JM Frazier smells fantastic and lathers well. It was a little thin in the 3rd pass but I think I need to use more. I'm definitely going to have to pick a tub of this up.

The Krona never lets me down. Another DFS with a razor/blade combo that my face likes. Still not sure about the Ogallala. So far my favorite has been the Sage & Cedar, followed by the Lime and Peppercorns, then the original Bay Rum. Still gotta try the Sandalwood, and I don't care for the cologne.
  13. De nada. Glad you like it! :)

  14. Slept in, had to rush off to the dentist with littlebear, so Tuesday lunchtime shave:
    Razor: Merkur slant
    Blade: Treet
    Brush: F.D. & G travel
    Pre shave: Proraso green
    Lather: Speick soap
    Aftershave: GCW

    image.jpg

First impression of the Treet: Cool! It's black!
Second impression of Treet: Rough, but enjoyable (does that make any sense?)
Thinking about the Treet after the shave (that's like right now. Real time): I'll give it two more days, maybe it'll be better tomorrow. Maybe I should cork it for Thursday if it doesn't get better.
Decent shave, but I'm rough on the sides of and under the chin, the Treet just doesn't seem to cut through the extra wire-ry hair their, but then nothing but Feathers and the odd Russian seems to.

    • Prep: shower, Geo F. Trumper Limes skin food
    • Razor: Gillette Travel Tech / STAR
    • Blade: Personna Med Prep
    • Brush: Frank Shaving Faux Agate
    • Soap: Palmolive shave stick
    • Post: alum, T.N. Dickinson's Witch hazel
    • Aftershave: Old Spice Original
I nearly forgot about the STAR razor I have. The handle is quite hefty so I thought I'd pair it with the Travel Tech head. Apart from 2 minor nicks it was quite a decent shave.
  17. SOTD Tuesday

    Prep: Hot bath, Shave Secret
    Music: The Naked and Famous
    Razor: '53 Ball Tech
    Blade: Voskhod Teflon
Cream: TSD Wheat Cream YSL L'Homme
    Brush: AOS pure badger
    Shave: 4 passes
Post: Warm then cold water splash, TSD AS YSL L'Homme, Dirty English ASB
    Pomade: Murray's Superior
    Cologne: John Varvatos Vintage

Another great shave, TSD wheat cream is the bomb and I really enjoy shaving with the Ball Tech razor. Really like the Dirty English balm as well!

Keep it cool out there
  18. Pre: Hot Shower and warm water splash
Razor: P.H. Hahn 5/8 full hollow
    Brush: Omega 11137
Soap: A superlather of Vitos Extra Super and eShave White Tea
    Post: Cold water rinse

A BBS shave with zero nicks and only mild irritation. There was some tugging atg, I think my P.H. Hahn needs a better polish on its edge, but that will have to wait until I can send it off.

EJ Pure, Speick, Supermax Sunrise (1), Superadjustable (2 on 2), Pinaud's Bay Rum

The new Sunrise blade felt great, I'm really thinking I've found a winner here, and have yet to even try the Bolzanos sitting in the medicine cabinet. They feel sharp and smooth and all of those other fun adjectives, but I have to wonder how much of it is psychosomatic, because honestly, I just like the packaging. As lame as it may be, I get a kick out of these little multi-colored paper wrappers and to me that's as good a reason to pick a favorite as any. I like the Speick enough that I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering the aftershave lotion and deo stick pretty soon. . .
  20. What's the story with the Allegro? A blade sharpening device? Is the angle adjustable?
