more of the sour white one. i like it alot, although the first time i smelled it a few months back, it practically turned my stomach. It must have been bad or tainted with something else. its very crisp and refreshing, but i seem to have a little irritation today. not sure if it was the SC, the new slant, or maybe i over did it yesterday, and my face was a little tender to begin with. i'll give it another shot tomorrow and see how it goes.
Well, this brush it just awesome. It works great with crèmes and soaps. I was a little apprehensive at first because the knot is so small. But, it lets me be aggressive in loading my brush and you can certainly add water, but you can never take it out. And Florida Water? Are you serious?!?! I've been missing out. It makes me feel like I'm full of myself, and full of summer time.

Wednesday, May 22, 2013 Simpson Case, Bigelow cream, Sunrise blade (2), Superadjustable (2 on 3), Pinaud's Bay Rum First time using the Bigelow (Proraso) in several days and I really appreciated the menthol effect. Effortless lather and a smooth shave. The Simpson brush seems to be breaking in nicely. The tubed stuff I've been using (Speick, Proraso) is great and I really like it, and I find my tub of TOBS becoming a 3rd choice. Maybe if I had something like a Chubby 2 for "luxury" days where I'd use a lot of product. . .
To me it's more of a pink grapefruit smell. I like it, but I stop noticing the scent after the first minute or so. I guess my nose gets used to it quickly.
Wednesday night... My "new to me" birth year Slim Adjustable arrived today! Razor: Slim Adjustable on 3 Blade: Personna med prep Brush: Ever-Ready resto w/20mm TGN Silvertip knot Cream: CO Bigelow Green Fantastic two pass with touchups. Love the Slim and love the knot on this latest restoration.
Tonight was a super lather. Prep: hot shower, TBS Tea Tree Face Wash, Alba Botanicals scrub. Brush: TGN Grade A. Razor: Schick Krona. Blade: Personna Med Prep. Cream/Soap: Proraso White with TSD Sensitive wheat cream. Post: cold water rinse, Barbon AS, a small application of Osage Rub. Tonight was an alright shave. I think the Krona is a good razor. It's on the mild side, but it will get the job done. I think I like my Techs more, but this will always have a place in my den. I got most of the stubble on the first pass. The super lather was alright too, something to change the pace of things. It requires a little more water, but the lather turned out to be pretty slick. My neck isn't very smooth, but I have no one to impress. My face is cooled and refreshed.

23.5.2013 Prep: shower, VITOS pre/post Razor: Mühle R89 Blade: Personna Platinum Brush: Omega #40033 Soap: Speick shave stick Post: alum, T.N. Dickinson's Witch hazel Aftershave: Floid Blue Stick month is slowly coming to an end. Since I only have 3 proper shave sticks (Arko is mushed into a bowl) I decided to use one each day in the 4th week. I might use Arko for the last 3 days of the month. Anyway, I'm glad I decided to use the sticks again. In the first week I still wasn't good at face lathering and I felt Speick didn't do such a good job. Today was quite different. From all the experience I gathered in the past 3 weeks I was able to produce a much better lather from the Speick. Now I'm sitting here with after a BBS shave and my face is glowing!
R41-13 Weber Bulldog Voskhod Semogue 2000 Klar Kabinett Alum Superior 70 This has become pretty much my standard fare any more. The new incarnation was domesticated just enough from the 2011 version for me. I get long lasting shaves with no irritation. I will have to see what I think in another few months, but this has less irritation than the OCMM and a closer shave than the Old Type. Have a good day all.
Thursday: NXT Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/7 AM day 4 Aquabarba SC Svoboda AS Balsam Barbon AS JHL Cologne Except for a very small weeper near my chin which healed right away, a terrific BBS shave. The Aquabarba cream from Tunisia smells minty and nice, has amazing lather, and gives a really good cooling effect. The Svoboda balsam and Barbon aftershaves are two more keepers for me. Although the 7 AM blades perform very well for me, I still prefer the Rapiras.
Ern C&S Tabula Rasa Dark Lavender 22mm Omega knot This is a relatively new rescale job on the C&S. I need to do a couple more on a few razors, hopefully this weekend but I'm waiting on washers. To finish my last one I had to crawl around on the shop floor looking for previously dropped washers. Very good shave this morning, fine shaving razor, good cream, another busy day ahead. Have a good one.

The good news is that for a vintage blade, it felt great and did an excellent job. The bad news is that I only have this one blade. I'll certainly be on the look out for more.

Well...After just over a month using the DE finally had a shave that wasn't very enjoyable! Trying to figure out if it was the blade or razor/blade combo. I had been using Astra SP's for a couple weeks with good results. I switched to the Wilkinson Sword last week and at first they were smoother and sharper for me. Today was day (4) for the Wilkinson in The NEW and I had to switch to the Merkur which had a day (3) Wilkinson while doing the ATG pass on upper lip, because the blade just completely stuck/stopped (no niks or cuts, just no movement). My question is can a blade last longer in a particular razor? PRE: TSD ISZ PSB + Am Crew PSO BRUSH: Vintage Fuller (Synthetic "Best") LATHER: TSD Rosemary Mint + Bigelow RAZOR: The NEW + Merkur 38C Cleanup BLADE: Wilkinson Sword POST: Alum + Aqua Velva Classic + Seacret ASB Have a great day all!
