Gillette slim adjustable Wilkinson sword Semogue 830 Mdc Floid vigoroso Ahh and now the long process of breaking in all my new pigs. No stink but not soft yet.
Saturday: NXT Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/7 AM day 6 Williams Menthol SC Visal AS Gel Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS I really cannot understand why the Williams Menthol cream was discontinued because it's awesome. Not only is the menthol power very strong, (not as strong as the Palmolive Menthol, however) it also smells great, it lathers so richly and easily, and it has fantastic skincare. Excellent blade glide also. The Visal gel and the Aqua Velva both added a LOT of extra freeze which I'll need because our temperatures are in the high 80s. The 7 AM blade is ready for retirement after the good service it gave me this week.
Futur Clone on 4 Voskhod Semogue 1800 (Thanks Steve) Institut Karite Alum Superior 70 I've been having an itch for a gold razor and was even thinking about getting one of my Old Types re-plated. When I saw Bruce's post that the Futur knock-off was selling for $30, I gave it a shot. It's bigger and heavier than all of my other razors, but wasn't hard to maneuver. Lots of aural feedback and a great shave with minimal irritation. I am not sure how long the shave will last, but my initial impressions are positive.
Friday & saturday in the Deluxe Desert Island Prep: hot washing cloth Brush: DVH boar Soap: Tabac Razor: Gillette flare tip Rocket Blade: Max Herder Shave: 3-pass + touch-up Post: hot water rinse, cold water rinse, restrop blade in Allegro mod. L Two superb shaves. Both close to BBS. I've decided to use this blade and keep it sharp with the Allegro until the edges give in. See where we get. I'll be using other razors in between & one other DE blade in my Gillette Aristocrat jr. Have a great weeken ya'll! Make it count!
5/8 Pyramid 7 (Geneva Cutlery) Mystic Water SS 28mm WSP HMW This is my oldest razor, not in age of the razor but as the one I've owned the longest. At one time I had a pretty good collection of Geneva Cutlery, Genco razors but sold most of them off. I kept 3 Pyramid 7's. Selling them is a big regret now.. It's a fine US made razor (New York) and a very good shaver. It ain't fancy but is made of good steel that takes a good edge and does what it was designed to do very well. I'll quit crying about spilt milk, have a good one.
Saturday Merkur 37C (Slant) 7 O’Clock Sharp Edge (yellow) (d2) Vulfix 2235 Super TSD Bourbon Vanilla SS Dominica Bay Rum/Osage Rub Am down to the last sliver of my TSD B-Vanilla soap. I have really enjoyed this one. Moving up the sharpness scale using the O'Clock Yellow, and it gave a near perfect BBS. I seem to do best with the slant using sharper blades.
SOTD Saturday 6-1-2013 (The Oneth of Six) Sabi SB/Elite Neon Green Acrylic Voskhod Teflon Blade Irisch Moos SC GT G4 Scuttle Omega 31064 Boar Dickinson's Witch Hazel Nivea replenishing ASB Brut Original Cologne Early shave for an early start to the day. I thought when you retired you got to take life easier. (Another Myth bites the dust!) lol Great shave though with the Sabi. It has a very aggresive blade gap and is right up there with the FaTip in that category.
That razor looks great with that handle....very sexy.... What were you doing this morning? I only asked because you do so much cool stuff....either taking a bike all over the NW or some cool 'Ponderosa' type stuff.......
Glad to hear that you gave it a shot Dale. I think you will really enjoy the shave performance and the great looks of this razor. Thirty bucks for this beautiful razor; you can't hardly go wrong. Congrats!
Sat Shave Arko Shave Stick Omega 10029 Baby-Pro ER 1912/Gem SS d3 Old Spice AS Fantastic 3 pass BBS....
Thanks Lloyd. Yeah that Neon Green acrylic really lights up when the light hits it just right. lol This morning I am going to an Order of the Quetzalcoatl (The "Q") meeting to receive my Artisan Degree. It's a Order of the Shriners which consists mainly of Potentates and Past Potentates. We support our Shrine Temples by providing transportation support for the Shriners Hospitals for Children in our areas in both transportation funds and being drivers or assist as clowns. Many of our members are Shrine Hospital drivers who transport the Kids to the Hospitals for their treatments and help them at the Hospitals by making them less apprehensive about the procedures they are about to receive. Many are on the Hospital boards that provide the care for these children and some are drivers or clowns volunteering at the hospitals. Shriner clowns volunteer to bring a smile to the Kids during their stay at the Hospital. It will be a nice morning with the meeting then.....it's back to that Ponderosa stuff! lol

PRE: TSD ISZ PSB + Am Crew PSO BRUSH: Omega 636 LATHER: TSD Rosemary Mint + C.O. Bigelow + (3) Drops M Bomb RAZOR: Gillette Black Handle Adjustable (7) BLADE: Astra SP POST: Alum + Aqua Velva Classic + Seacret ASB Well...Good thing the "desert isle" week is almost over. My blade is about to give out. May have to call in an SOS tomorrow morning! Aggressiveness of the adjustable on (7) today seemed about right. Anything short of BBS was probably only due to the blade starting to tug a bit. Have a great Saturday all!
Saturday - it's the weekend! Time for the SEs. Roasted up the Burundi Kirimiro Teka: (description on the label) Apple-like brightness, Asian pear sweetness, ripe black cherry, toasted almond, caramel and cream notes with hibiscus and rose notes. Now I don't know about all that. What I do know is that it's GOOD! Took right up to 2nd crack, maybe C+. I'm starting to like the lighter roasts as I'm trying to pay more attention to all the nuances of the flavors; lighter roasts seem to enhance them. Oh, and not a bad shave, either - no blood!
