When I noticed it was only $30, I figured I would give it a shot. The few threads I have seen were all pretty favorable. I had a Futur in the past which I sold off for some reason or another that I can't remember. I'm not into paying $90+ for a gold one, but $30 for this clone isn't bad at all considering the initial quality of the razor. I have to get used to large size of the razor and head. It was a little tight under the nose, but it shouldnt take long to come up to speed.

Slant Saturday evening. Third day in a row I've tried to take an action shot and forgotten, so here is the aftermath: So that's the end of desert island week for me as I won't shave tomorrow while I switch to nightshift.

Noticed a mild cooling sensation on my neck and chin a good half hour afterwards. Remember when shaving was a painful/irritating/bothersome chore? Thank goodness for The Shave Den and my friends here. Have a great weekend all.
Hope you enjoy the Russian blades. I have tried most of them and found they gave great shaves. I rarely stray from Rapira and Voskhod.

Sunday: #6 Horsehair Dovo Bismarck 5/8 Tryphon Mentolo SS Anherb AS Conditioner Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS A last second change in my choice of soap - this Tryphon Mentolo soap has been lying around under the sink in my bathroom for over five years, so I decided to go with it this morning. I'm glad that I did because the lather is really terrific with a very nice minty-fresh scent. The cooling sensation is around the same as the new Proraso Green soap or cream. The problem is that it's been discontinued because Giovanni, the owner of the company which I bought it from is no longer in the wetshaving business. The Anherb conditioner is so cooling and soothing, as well as moisturizing and the Aqua Velva gave me the final icy punch which made this shave an even bigger pleasure.

Sunday, my son's first shave! My son came to me yesterday, asking if I would like to teach him to shave. Of course I would!! So this morning I set him in front of my den, explained on the differences between the different razors, brushes, soaps and creams and let him take his pick. "Take what you want, it's yours. And if you want to change later on, that's fine by me as well!" So this is what he chose: British Gillette flare tip Rocket (travel set) Dickinson & Gilroys boar travel brush BonD shave cream I popped in a Personna Red blade for good measure. He did a nice 2-pass shave and made me the proudest of fathers!
