The Razorock razors are rebranded Cadet razors from India. I have the 3 piece open comb and it is a good razor, the write up on the website is quite truthful. This particular incarnation of the Cadet TTO you are looking at is priced higher by other vendors so its a good deal price wise, mind , I've never used the Cadet safety bar razor.

As Hanzo mentioned, you will find more reviews by expanding your search to Cadet Safety Razors. I don't have any experience with their three-piece DEs, but I am very fond of my RazoRock TTO. Her name is Foxy Roxy. image.jpg Since January, she's been my queen DE in a hive of SEs :) ... I've made several RazoRock orders & find that Joe processes orders & responds to questions very quickly. Shipping rates are very reasonable, esp since he's in Canada.

I have the RR Little Bastone. It's the Cadet OC with a short bulldog style handle rebranded to the Razorock name.

A really nice razor. For the price it's hard to beat.

I used to be a big fan of the RazoRock line of razors, but I have since had a few very bad experiences with them and no longer consider these razors to be worth the risk. It's true that my wife, my sister, and my brother may have all managed (in a stunning feat of coincidence) to come across three bad razors, but I doubt it. It's pretty telling when three separate razors owned by three separate people all experience catastrophic failure, without any physical trauma, and within the first four months of casual use. One razor I could chalk up to bad luck, but not three.

These razors do not have any warranty attached to them and there is no major manufacturer to complain to, so keep that in mind if you do decide to try one out.

My wife's was the first to go. She had a RazoRock Mirrored Pole TTO razor and had been using it for around four months when it broke. She was shaving when the silo doors suddenly popped off revealing a sheared off prong that would normally hold those doors in place. She took good care of it, had never dropped or banged it, and kept it on a stand when it was not in use. When I contacted the vendor he was polite, but let me know that there was no warranty and then suggested that the sudden damage may have been caused by over torquing the TTO mechanism. I have seen my wife use the razor, she is pretty careful, but I accepted this as a possibility and just let it go. I was angry and my wife received a nice cut from the head of the razor and blade hitting her, but sometimes unfortunate things happen.

My sister owned the exact same razor and had something similar happen about a week later. Once again, while shaving, her razor broke without any physical trauma to cause the break. When she showed me the razor it looked as if the threading inside the handle had somehow become corroded, her razor simply snapped off at the base of the razor's head and fell apart. She had the razor for around three months and, as a nurse, is obsessive about keeping it clean and dry. She told me that she had never dropped it, but had smacked it against the sink once, about a month after receiving it.

My brother owned the RazoRock Black Tie three piece razor. A little less than a month after my wife's razor died he called to tell me that his was busted too. He was unthreading the razor to replace the blade when the neck piece simply snapped. I bought it for him,so he felt bad and was angry about the whole thing. He said that he would just go back to using the Gillette flare tip that I gave him, but he also emphasised the fact that he never dropped it, even once. He's a pretty careful guy when it comes to tools and I doubt very much that he ever abused the razor, so I have no good explanation for why the neck would snap off.

It's true that some sort of collective mishandling of the razors, either unnoticed or unreported, may have occurred, but when vintage Gillette razors can survive decades of misuse and neglect and these razors break after less than six months of casual use, you have to wonder about their quality. I was a big supporter of these razors and suggested them as excellent choices for anyone looking to get into DE razors on a budget. I do not do that anymore.

Thank you for taking time to detail what your family experienced. I have the same model razor as your wife & sister and will be vigilant.

Well you've helped me make up my mind. I also have a Cadet TTO that I'm on the fence about. It has a little too much blade exposure for a comfortable shave for me. I was debating selling it or continuing to work with it.

I'd hate to sell something to someone and have it break soon after. I think I'll just shelve it for now.

    Thanks for the info.

None of this would have bothered me half as much if it weren't for the fact that I was the one who suggested these razors to them in the first place. Also, following the death of her razor my wife abducted my black handled super speed with the statement of, "Don't worry about it, I'll just use this one now."

    I love ALL my CADET's . I only use 3-piece units. I'm sure a 3-piece rebranded Cadet/Razorock will do you proud.

I have the black hammer version. Great razor, just a little aggressive sometimes.

another way to think about the modern razors vs. vintage is this: the bum razors Gillette produced bit the dust years ago. Only the best survived to the present. Consider also that Gillette produced DE razors on a massive scale- more product = more good ones to survive to the present.

The moral of the story is that I think the problem lies with the vendor.
