How is that Lemon face wash? I really enjoy their classic after shave lotion.

They call it either "Lemon Cream Facial Cleanser" (label) or "Lemon Cleansing Cream"(website). "Cleanser" is ironic because the 'lemony' scent is more like a floor or bathroom cleaner than fresh lemons.
Scent notwithstanding, it's a nice facial cream that I apply liberally in the shower to my beard/face & massage it in well. Following that, I apply a hot washcloth. It is refreshing and gives my mug a nice glossy sheen so it's pre-lubed a bit even before I apply any pre-shave oil. Very slick on the fingers, so be sure to wash up before grabbing a razor or other sharp objects. :)

The match-up of the Gillette New with the Parker hefty handle was most excellent. After yesterday's disappointingly aggressive shave, this was delightful. Face feels great.

Love that I remember my Grandpa shaving with a black handle SS back in the mid-70's.

    Evening shave for Monday!

    Music: Sovereign Grace
Prep: hot shower, face wash with 365 French Milled Glycerin Soap (un scented)
Pre: American Crew pre-shave oil, 60s under a hot towel
    Brush: Colonel Conk Pure Badger
Cream: TOBS Sandlewood (New- thanks CJames for the sample)
    Razor: Gillette 1954 SuperSpeed
    Blade: Shark Super Chrome
Shave: WTG, XTG, RXTG, Blade Buffing some trouble spots
Post: Hot Rinse, Cold Rinse, Witch Hazel
Inspection: A Kiss from the Wifey (she approved)

Got a great shave, aside from the small nick as a result of getting a little too free during my blade buffing. The cream was awesome. I have not had another cream (even the TOBS Eaton College) lather up as easily and smoothly as this one. I'm very thankful for TSD member CJames for sharing the wealth with this sample!

This along with rolling cream I believe were more traditional barbers products that LT has been repurposing for home use. In the past barbers offered facials and face massage as normal service. With this, like rolling cream he would rub it into the clients face and wash it off with a dry cloth. The intent was not just cleansing but to treat the clients skin , corn starch is an ingredient so that tells us something of intent. It does say " great for facial steaming" and that's true it is.

Brrrrrrrrr cold and beautiful is the best way to describe this shave - every item I used has terrific menthol power. The L'Oreal Men Expert facial wash is quite a bit colder than the Axe Chilled, the Lemon Ice soap smells great, lathers great, and really delivers a hell of a cooling sensation, and the Diana Sport/Rubby Dubby Doo combo will make you shiver! :) ;) :D

    'Stache Wax: Dirigo Blue

Before anyone asks about the Dirigo Blue products, it was just my way of having some fun. I make my own 'stache wax and pso, and roast my own coffee. I was calling it "Steve's Own" for lack of anything better, but I decided I wanted better. I decided it was time to brand my own products! So, with the help of some great friends here at TSD, we came up with a name and a logo (see my new avatar) for my new "company."

A shout out to richgem, Sara-S, gregindallas, PanChango, Tjebbe, ins0ma and Double Edge Dougy for your ideas.
And a special thanks to Slipperyjoe for his work on the logo, and to ohpaos for her brainstorming of possible names.
Thank you all for humoring me with all of this! :happy108:

    Tender ToozDay

    a. My usual: shower; Lucky Tiger Lemon wash & hot towel for 2-3 minutes
    b. Generous dab of my pre-shave oil (clove & bergamot)
    c. Soap: Combo time again - Williams Mug soap & the last of my Mike's Orange & Cedarwood; dab of liquid glycerin— GREAT smelling lather!
    d. Brush: Omega Pro 48 Boar -big & a bit moppy; SLAPS the lather on like a Benjamin-Moore paintbrush!
    e. Razor: 1962 Gillette Slim Adjustable; cautiously set to 2; with new Astra SP blade.
    f. Shave: 2 easy passes & touch-up
    g. Post: Cold-water rinse; towel dry; touch-up with my styptic pencil; 4711 aftershave & Pre de Provence Balm

After several days of getting some incredibly close shaves, I've developed some 'raw' spots around my tough area (adam's apple, throat), tender & minor rash bleeding.
So I'm 'backing off' a bit—not so close & being less aggressive, giving those spots a chance to heal. Not BBS, and that's okay. Still a DFS. :)
