5/8 T.I. D.R. Harris Eucalyptus 22mm Franks shaving knot Krampert's Bay Rum Good shave this morning and a good day for a menthol cream, summer finally showed up. I'm starting to dislike the Frank's shaving knot, it doesn't open up properly (or maybe how I'd like it to) while lathering. Maybe there is a break in period for the knot it but it won't be hanging around much longer. I'm going to have to pick up another Muhle synthetic. Have a good one.
Got some AS from ebarbershop. Love the scent. Also, I am on day 8 of the same Polsilver SI (!) Wow. Not trying to stretch this blade by any means. If it were shaving badly I would toss it. Shave on!
Prep: Hot water scrub Soap: VDH Deluxe Brush: VDH Deluxe Razor: Gillette Fusion Power (4) WTG, ATG Cold water splash Dickinson's Witch Hazel My cat scratched my chin this morning, so a 3rd pass and aftershave balm both seemed like bad ideas; the witch hazel was questionable enough. DFS otherwise.
Great shave today! I love this Palmolive classic and I really with they sold it at drug stores in America.

Thursday Washed with Honeybee unscented soap Lathered TSD unscented soap with large drop glycerin added Muhle hjm black fiber synthetic brush Vintage bakelite slant razor Gillette 7 O'Clock yellow blade CeraVe lotion I've been enjoying using Schick injectors most days recently (inspired by Injector Week), but today I decided to use the slant. Three passes plus touch up gave a comfortable BBS result. The TSD again produced excellent lather with added glycerin.
Thursday morning: Razor: Fake Futur on 4 Blade: 7:00 yellow Brush: Sabi black badger Lather: Speick stick Aftershave: Krampert's Bay Rum That was a good shave. Very close. Looks like bay rum is popular this week! The Sabi brush is better already on this, its second use.

Wow, what a shave! The NOS Schick blade and Schick E2 Injector amaze once again! The Gillette Cool Wave is so wonderfully cool and refreshing, it's becoming my favorite aftershave!
THURSDAY a. Hot shower; Lucky Tiger Lemon Face Cleanser; NO hot towel — face feels slick after the LT application. b. Pre: Homemade PSO - just a dab all that is needed c. Soap: NEW! Trying for the 1st time the "African Black Soap Shave Butter Créme"— from CVS d. Brush: Semogue 830 e. Razor: Merkur 38c HD Barber Pole with Astra SP f. Shave: 3 good passes with touch-up g. Post: cold-water rinse; Nivea Moisturizing Balm — no need for an AF today! Wow! What a great shave! BBS!...with NO irritation nor blood. About 2 tsps of the Shave Butter Créme was all that I used to lather up in a bowl . Not much water. Very creamy; after about 90 seconds of vigorous whipping no real volume to speak of, just a very slick, creamy texture unlike most lathers (think cream-pie filling vs whipped meringue topping). The Shave butter cream goes on smooth and not overly thick. Fantastic lubrication & conditioning of the face. Not greasy. Face feels well-moisturized post shave; I almost skipped the balm. For the money (less than $10 on sale at CVS), a real good value. If you want billowy clouds of voluminous white lather, this product is probably not for you. But man, I really enjoyed the feel of the razor gliding across this stuff! Key is to keep your razor well-washed as this créme is denser than most soaps or creams.
SOTD Thursday 6-20-2013 '62 Gillette Slim Adjustable @7 Voskhod Teflon Blade Cocobutter Cream as a PSC (?) Homemade (Irisch Moos/Speick-ish) SS (Two drops of Glycerine added to the SS) GT G4 Scuttle Omega 31064 Boar Dickinson's Witch Hazel Nivea Replenishing ASB Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum ASL I'm trying different products and possible substitutes from my usual software this morning. I have always wondered what the benefits of adding Glycerine to the SS/SC's would be so, I'm giving that a try this morning as well. Also, I have used Proraso PSC for years and I'm trying to find a locally available substitute that is reasonably priced. (Not that Proraso isn't my favorite PSC; which it is!) It is a shame that none of the drug stores around here carry any decent shaving products. It's really a hassel and expensive having to order all the shave products I use on-line and pay more shipping cost than the initial price of the product I'm ordering instead of pickimng up the item at a local drug or department store. With all the really great shaving products available on line, you would think some local shops would stock at least a few of them. All that is available here is Williams SS and knock-off Mennen Skin bracer. Bummer!
Thursday 06/20 Today's fact tidbit, hens lay 6.5 billion eggs a year for human consumption. Hot shower, facial wash Axe Chilling. Today's Starting Line-up; Fliod pre-shave oil Brush; Semogue 1325 Soap; Mystic River Marrakesh Razor; Cadet Mongoose Blade; Sharp The Semogue easily lathered up the Mystic River into a rich creamy lather. Blade change for the Mongoose today it's partnered with a Sharp blade. After three comfortable passes I had a all-star DFS. Followed with a gentle warm rinse, a refreshing cold water splash, a splash of Florida Water, the final touch Fitness balm.

Thursday, June 20, 2013 Chubby 2, Speick, Fatboy, SuperMax Sunrise (4), Pinaud's Bay Rum ***Didn't have the time earlier to mention it, but I had a great shave with the Chubby and Speick today. The Chubby is really something now that I'm getting used to it, big and luxurious feeling on the face, and I had no trouble at all generating a thick cushiony lather of Speick in my bowl, easily enough for 4 passes, though I stopped at my usual 2. I think the key to getting the most out of the Chubby is to not be afraid to waste product. . .
PRE: Hot Towel + MR GLO Soap + Homemade PSO BRUSH: Fuller Restore LATHER: D.R. Harris Lavender + AOS Lavender RAZOR: Merkur 38C BLADE: Gillette Silver Blue (6) POST: Alum + Lucky Tiger I mixed up a small batch of PSO to try. So far, I like the Am. Crew better. Part of it is because I seem to like the Eucalyptus better and it is also slightly more viscous. I think I will add a little more castor oil next time and go will Lavender/Peppermint for the EO. This was Lavender/Peppermint/Sweet Orange...The Lavender seems to get lost in this mix. Back to face lathering already...I think its here to stay. Have a great day all!
