First time to use the Fatboy, the #3 setting was a bit too mild. I'll bump it up tomorrow and see how it does.

I feel a little sad that my dear friend Ryan didn't have the results that he was hoping for from this SuperMax Menthol cream. Myself, I got perfect lather from it as well as its nice cooling effect and plenty of skincare. The Svoboda balsam and Barbon aftershave feel so cool and refreshing in hot weather. Ryan, I'll coach on that cream - don't worry! ;) :D

I received this 1/2" wedge from Jeff (Stingraysrock) and honed it up last night. I was surprised with the ease of sharpening for a wedge. Anyway, I got a very smooth, comfortable shave this morning. I've been wanting to try one of these smaller wedges for quite a while and to be honest I was very pleased with the quality of shave.

There were a few chips and nibbles to remove from the edge. I used 3 layers of tape it made the bevel narrower but worked fine. I find on the initial bevel forming work using some pressure helps speed up the process then once you're in the right ball park you can go back to a normal honing regime.

    Razor: Shake Sharp
    Blade: Blue Blade
    Brush: Stingray Custom
    Stick: TOBS St. James
    AS: St. James

Not the best shave but the Shake Sharp did seem to restore a Blue Blade with 4 shaves on it.
I think shave quality was low, because the blade angle is a little tricky on the razor. It was my first shave with it.

Tuesday morning. At the gym again, same stuff as yesterday. I'm getting seriously addicted to this menthol thing. How come I can't walk into a store and buy that Gillette Cream? Why must all their good products go to Europe?

    Razor: Merkur Slant
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (another fine product I can't find in a store)
    Brush: Omega mixed midget
    Cream: Gillette
    Aftershave: green Aqua Velva

Awesome shave. It is cool here in the mornings and I love walking to my truck with all that menthol on my face.

Good morning everyone...Just one more day and I'm off! This setup is fantastic! The Innsbruck is definitely my favorite AS Splash. It is one of the few that I don't regularly add a balm to. I moved the adjustable down a notch to (6) and found it a little more comfortable. It was probably my ego telling me that (7) is better. Have a great day all!

    TUESDAY

    a. PRE: Shower, Lucky Tiger Lemon wash; Floid's PSO
    b. RAZOR: 1941 Gillette Aristocrat with a new Astra SP blade
    c. SOAP: Mike's Natural Shaving Soap; sample-size 'Peppermint & Rosemary' - nice & herbal!
    d. BRUSH: VDH Boar - the perpetual break-in continues
    e. SHAVE: 3 passes (WTG, XTG, ATG), plus touch-up; use of Styptic pencil for 2 nicks
    f. POST: cold-water rinse; 4711 aftershave; Nivea Moisturizing balm

More challenging shave this morning as I find the Aristocrat requires me to pay attention more so than my other razors.
More prone to nicks with it (2 today) as for some reason it's not as forgiving. The 'baby' RB scuttle provided warm lather throughout the shave. :)

Although TOBS doesn't need any help providing a thick smooth volumnous lather, I put an additional 3 drops of Glycerine to see if there is any difference. The Cadet/Crystal works wonders! Great shave this morning. :happy005:
