6/8 Hoffritz Tabac SS 22mm Omega Stephan Bay Rum and Everest Balm Nice shave this morning. I don't get the skin care from Tabac soap that I do from the cream but the Everest balm makes up for it. Have a good one.
Wednesday: #6 Horsehair Super Speed/Shark day 3 Tryphon Permafrost Blue Shaving Stick Gillette Intense Cooling AS Balsam Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash Dolce & Gabbana EDT No pictures today, sorry but a very, very nice BBS shave. This Permafrost Blue stick has become a vintage item because it's no longer in production, and it's excellent. A nice licorice-type scent with great lather and strong menthol power. This balsam from Gillette is also pleasantly-scented with plenty of moisturizing and a good cooling effect, and the Penguin is as frigid as the Rubby Dubby Doo.

Wednesday! It was with fear in my head I installed the dreaded BIC Chrome blade in my R89.... Prep: Nivea for Men Sensitive face wash. Brush: Bestshave #6 horsie. Weapon: Mühle R89 / BIC Chrome (1). Lather: Florena Men Comfort cream in Ikea bamboo bowl. Shave: Traditional 3 passes. Post: Cold water rinse followed by Nivea for Men Sensitive asb. Why was it dreaded, the BIC? Because when I used it in the beginning of my wetshave startup it tore my face quite badly. But with improved technique I went back - succes! Pleasant shave, smooth but not as sharp as Astra SP, my reference blade. Love the Florena! Love the shave. Have a nice day
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why you should never toss any shave product after only one or two uses. Put it up on the shelf, let it sit for a few months, then come back to it. If it still doesn't work, at least you tried. Many have been surprised to find a "bad" product magically get better with time! Way to go, tuxxdk!!

Thanks I have plenty of sample blades in the drawer that didn't work back then that I'm revisting now. Some work, some still don't work. In totally agree with you, never give up on something new until revisited.
Wednesday morning: Razor: Merkur 45 Blade: 7:00 yellow Brush: Floaty-handle Omega boar Soap: Proraso red Aftershave: Every Man Jack balm Didn't want to wake the wife this morning, so I used the stuff just happened to be in the downstairs bathroom. First time I've used the Proraso red. I think it makes a nicer lather and has better skin care than the white or green, but that smell has me gagging. I think I'll put it away for a while and try it again in the winter.
Thursday Wash Honeybee unscented soap Razorock Boston Tea Party Mühle hjm synthetic brush Vintage Bakelite slant Astra SP blade CeraVe lotion Refreshing cold water shave. The Razorock produced excellent lather, as always. Three comfortable passes, smooth BBS result. The heat wave has moderated here in Seattle: expected high today will be only 81.
Fine shave today! Two days in a row, great set up. I'm a certified baseball nerd. Last night I was able to experience a no hitter. Well done Homer, thanks for having me as a part of it!!

Wednesday Proraso Green Soap TGN 22mm Super Silvertip Face lather E4 Fatboy set on 8 Astra SP blade (5) Proraso aftershave I was planning on putting in a new blade and bumping the Fatboy to 9 this morning, but I woke up a little late and groggy and forgot what I did yesterday. I left it 8 and had a pretty good shave, bit I think the blade was a little overdue. Tomorrow I'll try the 9 setting with a new blade, since it's a holiday I won't be rushed in the morning.
