Case, Black Beauty, Sunrise (2), Speick razor cream, after shave & cologne

Another gorgeous, 78 degree day in Portland!

Really great shave with the 'Beauty on 5. About 2 months ago I started using it on 1, and slowly I've worked my way up. These adjustables are great for a beginner, because they allow you to start off slow, and still get decent shaves without tearing your face up. The Speick line continues to be my favorite, and I'm pretty sure it's what I'll take with me when I start traveling again in a few weeks.

I used my new Every Man Jack Cedarwood cream today. I found that it required more product than usual to get a good lather and started to thin out toward the end, so I added a tiny bit of KMF Pomegranate Grapefruit to the mix, which worked like a charm. I did a 2 1/2 pass wtg/atg/(xtg on my neck only) shave followed by a cold water rinse and some T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel. The results: a BBS shave with zero nicks and zero irritation.

Pre: Hot shower and warm water splash
    Razor: Fromm hair shaper
Blade: Fromm hair shaper blade (on its last shave)
    Brush: AoS Fine Badger
Soap: EMJ Cedarwood and a tiny drop of KMF Pomegranate Grapefruit

Today's shave started out good, but got rough towards the end.

Prep: hot shower, TBS Maca Root Face Wash, Alba Botanical scrub.
Brush: Oscar brush with TGN Grade A knot.
    Razor: '62 Gillette Slim.
    Blade: Personna Lab.
    Soap: Palmolive Stick.
Post: cold water rinse, Thayer's Lavender WH, Clubman.

I think part of my problem might have been that I didn't dial down my Slim far enough for my second pass. I started out on 7 and went to 4. Maybe I'll do 3 the next time. I used Clubman again, but I like Barbon more. I'll use that next time. Living and learning my friends!

New to me is this sweet little Schick I-1 razor. Picked it up from eBay along with a Gem Micromatic Clog-Pruf. Cleaned up very nicely and shaves great. It is very forgiving and delivered a great shave. This will definitely be in my rotation. I will be trying out the CP tomorrow.

Despite the heat which we're experiencing I feel cool and comfortable after such a great shave like this one. Even the L'Oreal facial wash has enough menthol power to be felt. The Palmolive Cool cream is so cold that even after you rinse your face you can still feel the tingling sensation for quite some time. Not only is the Anherb conditioner well-mentholated, it's so moisturizing and soothing. This time I also splashed some Rubby Dubby Doo on my head - ahhhhhhh, it felt awesome! ;) :D
