The Delong brand of shaving brushes combines top quality and real world pricing. These brushes are said to be handmade from the top to the bottom and have very full bodied brush heads. This was the first badger brush that I owned. It was the second from the left in the picture, the one with the ivory colored handle. The knot was dense and held a ton of lather. It may have lost 2-4 bristles over the years. This brush for me worked better with cremes than soaps. Nothing prickley about this one, very soft. I only rated it a 7 on "ease of lather" because it took a little work with soaps.
I used it for a couple of years before deciding that I really wanted to use soaps and it was just too floppy for me. While this brush is on the soft and floppy side which some do prefer it is an excellent value at around $50. I found it at Cotton Blossom Crafts on the web.

    EXCELLENT Shaving Brush!!!

I bought my Delong shaving brush on ebay from China at about $25-$30. It claims to be a badger silvertip. I was a bit skeptic but when it arrived I was absolutely amazed. A truly wonderful brush. Very soft to the touch. Not stiff at all. It has a voluminous head that retains an incredible amount of water. It lathers extremely well. The handle is just beautiful and feels wonderful to the touch. Nice, sturdy and durable. I have lost very, very few hairs since using it. It just is the best shaving brush that I have ever used. It makes you feel like you are using the very best at a very reasonable cost. It certainly matches high-end (high-cost) shaving brushes. I could not be happier with my purchase. No doubt, I will be using this shaving brush for a very long time.
