LOL, I fooled myself. I didn't look at the razor close enough in the photos, I thought it looked too slim for a Fatboy but I didn't think they started making the slims until 1962. I just opened the package and turns out it's one of the first slims, a G3 from the third quarter of 1961. Still, not a bad deal, it's in pretty good shape, much better shape than my other slim. I'll post some pics later.
I fell in love with Simpsons new Manchurian Badger used in my QEII brush. It's a great brush for face lathering but I bowl lather probably half the time. So I bought and just received this Simpson LE Emperor 3 Manchurian Badger. It seems real nice. After it breaks in I will review it.
I'm kind of regretting not splurging on one of the LE butterscotch Manchurians. It seems like they're gone now.
OK, been kinda slowed on my AD for a month or so. Not been real active but I did pick up 2 boxes of PX/BX injector blades, 3 tubes of Palmolive classic, 1 Palmolive stick, and my favorite of the month 2 Ever-Ready greenies that I traded for here on board. One complete with Turkish horse hair #6 knot.
My first fatboy... A little more plateloss as I wished, but it's a nice usergrade razor. It's cleaned and loaded for tomorrow's shave!
I love shoulderless blades and Fancy Spines. Got both in one razor with this one. I might have to get the tang gold wash redone. I googled the maker but couldn't find any information.
Picked up this interesting trinket on the streets of Kiev today...Don't really know much about it. Maybe somebody else knows something about it? It's 5/8 and I'm guessing early Soviet Era 1920-40?
Any closer pics of stamps and etching? The etching looks like St.Petersburg landscape - famous place. The stamp on the last pic says "ПОДАРОК" - "The Gift".
Just scored this on ebay this afternoon. Looks to be in really good shape. Hope it's not too aggressive. I've had "vintage" but this is my first "antique".
Nice Glen They aint too aggressive from what I remember (It was awhile since I last tried one) They do look great though. let us know how it goes.
Oscar11 (AKA Steve S) made the above items, I tried my best to picture them, but photo's never seem to do his work justice (Well not with 5 year old 8mp camera, and photography skills) Knot is approx 22/24 and loft is about 46mm. which gives this good sized brush back bone which is perfect for me. The white handle is similar size hole, and Ive yet to get a knot for it. Many thanks Steve.
