Thursday's shave, July 25, 2013 Schick E2 Injector with Schick blade (6) Semogue 1305 boar bristle brush, Arko shaving soap with hot water lather, finish with cold water rinse for a DFS!
SotN Cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap, good! Entirely impressed by this Barbasol AS. Smells light and almost musky with a nice albeit short lasting menthol kick. For $2.29, it wins the cheap and good award for tonights shave! Great stuff, must go order the rest of the scents now. The GEM OCMM is just great. Smooth and easy DFS. All around an awesome shave!!

Dickinson's Witch hazel Aftershave: Floid Black + 444 I had a sample of this cream a few weeks ago and I didn't really like it. If I hadn't tried many TOBS creams before this one I won't bother based on the sample. But I knew TOBS is good and I really like the scent of the cream. My girlfriend ordered the full tub even though she was aware of the fact I didn't like the sample that much. Well, I can say that I'm glad she got it for me. The lather was everything you'd expect from TOBS and it smells amazing. Perfect for a morning shave.
This Ogalalla Bay Rum AS should be a must in your daily shave. Could you please describe the sensation? How can i have one? BTW, Nice photo.

Indeed it is! I love it, backbone is fine. If I'm trying to scoop up a hard soap, I may go down the know a little and pinch it but I pretty much do that with any brush. It is a fantastic brush.
Fri AM Shave. Merkur Progress (3) 7 o'clock SS Proraso (red) Semogue 1305 Proraso A/S Pre de Provence balm My Semogue 1305 is REALLY coming around with the bloom and "split ends". I used to fight with myself because I only wanted to use exotic sounding "Badger" brushes, which is fine, but scoffed at my use of a Boar hair brush. BOY was I wrong!!!! The break in period was key!
5/8 Henckels Twins Mundus Bay Rum shaving soap 25mm Omega Caribbean Bay Rum Very nice shave today. Post shave skin care is excellent. I wouldn't consider the Mundus a true bay rum scent but it's nice and spicy. I'm no expert but I know what I like and this stuff is o.k. Good lather and slip. Have a good one.
Friday: L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/Shark day 5 Palmolive Cool SC Gillette Series Intense Cooling AS Balsam Osage Rub AS Grey Flannel EDT Not only did I get a great BBS and comfortable shave today, I got a frozen face from all the menthol items I used. I highly recommend the L'Oreal Men Expert facial wash for its skincare and cleaning action. It also has a very pleasant cooling effect if you leave it on while you brush your teeth or shower. The Palmolive Cool cream is identically the same as the Italian version - just the size and the color of the tube are different. This Gillette Series balsam is very similar to Anherb in the cooling and moisturizing departments, and the Rubby Dubby Doo is in a class by itself! Have a wonderful weekend, folks!
Nice Jeff!!! When i am back home i will show you my newest products. A lot of Menthol stuff... Take care.
Friday: Prep: Hot shower Brush: VDH Boar Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine Scent Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 Open Comb Blade: Bic Hi-Chrome Platinum (3) Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG Post: Cold water rinse, Alum, rinse, Aveeno Active Naturals ASB Cologne: The Third Man, by Caron My custom soap arrived in the mail yesterday, after I'd already completed my morning shave. I couldn't wait to try it out, but stayed my hand until the morning. Because I'd not used the product - or a glycerin shave soap - before, I opted to skip the PSO to get a feel both for its inherent slickness and to fully appreciate the scent ("unscented" AoS smells like black pepper to me). I debated popping in a fresh blade for the soap's initial run, but decided that would feel a bit like cheating on the blade sampler test. The scent is wonderful, indolic jasmine sambac backed by the warmth and bitterness of coffee, which itself has slightly floral qualities. Closest. Shave. Ever. The Ginger's Garden soap was easy to lather, produced good cushion, and was so slick that my only weeper was on my neck BELOW where the hair stops, simply because my razor was gliding more easily than I had been used to. Alum took care of that without issue, of course, and my face felt 'tight' enough to bypass the witch hazel.
PRE: Hot Towel + MR GLO Soap + Homemade PSO BRUSH: Omega 636 LATHER: Speick Stick + Speick Cream RAZOR: W & B 6/8 finish w/ Merkur 38c POST: Alum + Lucky Tiger After a few days off from the freshly honed straights, thought I would try out the last one. This time I did only one pass and had only one extremely small nick (not even enough to bleed). Think I will keep up the single pass thing until I can successfully finish with no nicks! Have a great day all!
