I've used the iKon Deluxe OC (2013) and the Gillette Old Single Ring (1910). I felt the Gillette is more aggressive than the iKon. Haven't used the New so I can't give you a direct comparison, but maybe this helps.
You'll have to make sure the handle fits or be ready to modify the head. Some New heads that came with a ball-end handle have a smaller diameter place for the handle to fit.
This is an English NEW with a long comb on my replated bar handle. This provides a milder shave I believe.
When I first acquired this NEW I was new to vintage shaving. I just ran across it in an antique store and liked the looks. I really didn't know what I had. Then I shaved with it and was blown away. That is when I decided it needed a face lift. I found Sam Duran, and the rest is history. It is a beauty, no doubt. I really lucked out all around with this deal.
Ditto that! I had 2 New long combs (a bar handle and a ball end) re-plated in nickel. One may get a bull handle.
I think a good handle for the New would be the Sabi T1 or T2 handle. You can get a complete razor for about $24 at shaveabuck: http://shaveabuck.com/sabi-safety-razors-c-80.html
