Sylvester McCoy was the seventh incarnation of the Doctor between 1987 and 89'..so that would make him a Dr. McCoy...

With 12 Doctors plus John Hurt as an unknown incarnation, I guess that means Peter Capaldi will be the last, since the Doctor only has 12 incarnations.

I don't know if he ever had a lead role, but he was a great actor and played in many movies and television shows. It's funny I just saw him in an old episode of the original Untouchables series with Robert Stack. R.I.P Mr. Ansara...

 

Unless he the TARDIS or some other accident gives him more....

 

Maybe they'll have to change species for another 12 incarnations

 

They retconned that away in an episode of the Sara Jane adventures. They'll keep the show going as long as the Doctor's bringing in a profit.
