I stumbled on this site and liked what I saw! I'm excited about getting back into wet shaving. I want to turn shaving into a fun experience instead of a chore.

I'm interested in safety and straight razors.

I also have two teenage sons and I want to share this with them and put them on the right path.

    Lets get started!

:signs046: to TSD Derek........I hope you enjoy it here.......:)

We're glad you stumbled on us and have decided to stay and give "traditional" shaving a try...I think you might be in for a pleasent surprise...I shaved regularly for work with a Trac2 for 30+ miserable, irritation filled years...I was so looking forward to retirement mostly so "I WOULD NEVER HAVE TO SHAVE AGAIN"!! :happy097: About 6 months or so before retirement I discovered "traditional" shaving and TSD...This turned an unpleasent chore into a very pleasent and interesting hobby...Well long story short I've been retired now for just over two years and I "HAPPILY" shave everyday now....:D

    Hi! Welcome to the Den.

You're on the right path to turning shaving into a "get to", not a "have to"!

Welcome to TSD! Sounds fun...You could either make the switch as a family or just wait for them to come check out and "borrow" your stuff when they notice you enjoy the shave routine all of a sudden. It's happened to several others here. I would recommend beginning with the DE that way you take your time learning the straight. The learning curve is much steeper and longer with the straight! Enjoy!

I lived in Kalamazoo on and off for many years. I liked the city, but hated the snow.

Welcome to The Shave Den. This is an excellent place to learn and grow.

:signs046: Welcome aboard! One of my favorite guitars was made by Gibson right there on Parsons Street in Kalamazoo in 1948. Love that guitar...

I hope your sons are as interested as you in wet shaving. It really makes all the difference in the world. I HATED to shave. Now, I look forward to it!

Welcome. Good for you starting your boys out the right way into manhood. Hopefully it teaches them to slow down and appreciate simple things like a good shave in this hectic world. :signs046:
