Tuesday: #6 Horsehair Super Speed/Rapira day 2 Moroccan Palmolive Classic SC L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash Balea unscented moisturizer Booster Mosswood AS Santos de Cartier EDT I can't believe that I had a menthol-free shave today and actually enjoyed it. Well, almost menthol-free because the L'Oreal Men Expert facial wash contains menthol. This Palmolive Classic cream from Morocco appears to be identically the same as the one made in Egypt and everywhere else in the Middle East and North Africa. Great lather and skincare, and I'm starting to like the scent more than before. The Booster Mosswood is a fantastic aftershave.

W&B Wilkinson Shave Stick 25mm Omega Boar Stephan Bay Rum Everything you need for a first class shave. Very enjoyable shave this morning. Have a good one. BTW, our new City Forester is coming over tonight for his first (do it himself) straight razor shaving experience. A very nice young man. I'm sure it will end up costing me a straight razor, brush and some soap or cream but it'll be worth it.

Shave of the Day, Tuesday August 13, 2013 • Prep: Brush soaked in ice water, tepid shower • Razor: Merkur Progress converted to Mergress XL • Blade: Croma Diamant Stainless • Brush: Shavemac Limited Edition Shaving Brush 90 with High Density Finest Two-Band Badger Fan Knot designed by Geoff Anderson • Soap: Martin de Candre • AS: The Shave Den Iced Violet Patchouli Aftershave • Post: Cold Water Rinse, double splash of aftershave Hey everyone...long time no see, I hope that each and everyone of you are doing well. Ryan Bales and I talk a lot on social media and I realized how much I miss everyone from here, this place always felt like home. My cat Stewie woke me up before the alarm went off this morning. After some one and one time I was able to spend a little extra time on my shave. I am continued to be impressed by this brush. I love the amount of water that it holds, the softness of the tips, the weight and the gorgeous look of it. Although one could probably whip up a great lather from the MdC with a toothpick, I was rewarded with a mountain of ultra dense lather. Three full passes and some light buffing provided a shave as smooth as I could be. I keep reaching for the TSD Iced Violet Patchouli. One, it is cold. Two, the scent it just amazing. Three, nothing makes my skin feel better afterwards. I wish I could pump this stuff through my shower and bathe in it. Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Tuesday Wash with unscented glycerin soap Lather Petal Pushers kokum butter soap Oscar11 brush with HIS knot Vintage bakelite slant Feather blade (4) CeraVe lotion This was the first time out with the oscar11 brush -- what a delight! I'll have to post pictures later. The HIS knot made mountains of good lather from the Petal Pushers soap. The bakelite slant performed well, but this was day 4 for the Feather blade, and it gave a little irritation, so it goes to the blade bin. Three passes gave a very smooth result.

Tour De Mike's Day 2Pine & Cedarwood What was left in the brush after the 3rd pass... Day 2 conclusion: Today I remembered to add a few drops of warm water into the OS Mug prior to showering. I do this with some of my other soaps, particularly MWF. It seemed to assist the process as lathering was easier and the lather itself seemed to have a little more of that cushion/density/protection that I was looking for. I picked up on a little more as far as scent goes. There is definitely a hint of a smoky aroma to this one. Think campfire or hickory, not tobacco or cigarettes. By the looks of the OS mug there are at least 1-2 more days of shaves on this one. End result was a near BBS again with no nicks, weepers or irritation, just a soft, hydrated clean shaven mug! Have a blessed day all!
