A family friend who left the Soviet Union about 30 years ago found me and gave me his shaving brush. He brought it out of Russia when he came to the US, but never used it. This is a nice treasure. I'm considering leaving it in the original package, but I'm tempted to use it.
Dang, tough call. It's nice enough to go in a shadow box, but curiosity usually wins out. Seriously nice piece.
I wouldn't open it. Plenty of other brushes in the sea. That may be the only one like it still in the package. It would make a great addition to a display, and a cool conversation starter.
great brush! The factory that made it situated in Moscow region in Orekhovo-Zooevo and has 90 years of experience in manufacturing plastic, horn and bone items. Now they produces boar brushes with plastic handles. Does it has any labels, dates or codes on it? Or price tag?
So would I, maybe....the temptation to but a big ole TGN Finest 2 Band XH in that would be overwhelming. I would cave and would be drilling out that knot within hours! Love that handle, I'd have to be using it!
Damn cool Danny. Not sure if I'd use it or not.....I'm glad I don't have to look at it and deal with that temptation all the time. If you do though, you gotta tell us about it!
Yes, they're still in business. Under different name though - ЗАО ТОХОЗ and produces all kinds of plastic items from small like pens and brushes to details of furniture. I can mistaken but it seems to me I've seen their brushes in store...
