The FD Vijon clone is the original scent. They left out the castor oil though. You can mix the Vijon 50:50 with the P&G and still be very close to the original.

I like the Shulton OS. I don't much like the P&G OS. It's too heavy on the baby powder scent. I still have about half a bottle of Shulton OS from my teen years (born in 1970), and still use it. I need to get some more of the Shulton formula. Been looking for the Indian made, since Manish went out of business. I got some of the OS shave cream from him a few years ago and it is nice.
I've also used the Vijon clone. Bought it at Dollar General. It's called Ivy Club. Smells much more like the old OS than the new OS does.
Still not the same, but closer than the new one.

Aramis is a good, spicy AS. I detect (primarily) black pepper. I think it also has citrus. It also has menthol. I can feel it getting colder and colder.
It just tends to smell stronger than I like to smell. I want to smell good, but still fly under the radar, if you know what I mean.
I don't want to smell like I've been in a French cathouse.

I can't wear Pinaud Clubman. It smells like Brut or Canoe. My wife calls it "old man scent". The scent actually starts to make me sick to my stomach after a few minutes.

I like Master Lord and Master, ok. My wife likes it better than I do. I prefer their Lilac Vegetol, but it's more floral than spicy.
I also like Master Iceland Breeze. Great summer AS. Face freezing goodness that gets colder after a few minutes.
Wife doesn't like it, but I wear it anyway. The only AS I wear that she doesn't like.

Wife likes OS because it reminds her of her father. I like OS because it reminds me of my father.
That, and Bruce Campbell did commercials for it. Who doesn't like Bruce Campbell?

I can't imagine. And he does have a jawline that was made for shaving ads.
