My name is Jonathan, and I am 31 years young. I love soccer, beer, firearms, and food. In that order. I have always been intrigued by safety razors. My wife just bought me my first safety razor: Muhle R89 Grande. She also picked up the Unscented Starter Kit (pre-shave oil, cream, badger brush, and after-shave) from The Art of Shaving to learn with. I ordered the Muhle Razor and Brush stand last night, and now looking for a solid-budget brush for cream lathering. I'll eventually try soap down-the-road. I used the razor for the first time yesterday with Personna "Lab Blue" blades, and all I can say is that I'm impressed. I came from using a cartridge razor, and an electric shaver. I don't see myself going back. If any of you are also from San Diego, please let me know any places around town where I can get stuff for my shaving needs locally. That's it for now. I'm happy to be a part of this community, and excited to learn a lot here. CHEERS! -Jonathan
Hey Jonathan...Welcome to TSD! I left SD about 3.5 years ago, before I was into the wet shaving thing. I'm not sure if there are any great locations to visit there. Depending on where you are at in SD, your best bet may be to take a little road trip up to Chino, CA. West Coast Shaving has there retail outlet there. I have been there twice now...And each time its like I'm a kid in a candystore. Otherwise you are probably stuck with AOS in the malls.
Thanks! I have been browsing WCS and shaving.ie all day. Haha. I just go to AOS to play and talk to their sales reps, haha.
Welcome to TSD and excellent hobbies you have as well. Sounds a lot like me, I was huge into soccer growing up...until I got out of shape.
