That's a great looking razor. I imagine it would bring a pretty nice price. You could look on eBay for previous sales but I did that and didn't see one like it. I guess the other option is to put it on e-bay and see what someone will give you for it. Of course then you'd have to give it to them. I'd probably just keep it:)

I did find an article about Robeson on a pocket knife site and wondered if the tang mark chart would be the same for their razors. If so, it was manufactured between 1896 and 1899.

I thought I might run over to Maggard's, show it to Brad, and maybe have him spruce it up for me. Of course then I'd have to get up the courage to shave with it.

I received a "new" brush yesterday...it is a really tiny little thing. It seemed to be produced from company "Küli" and is out of the 60´s.Never heared of it before. But i´m glad to have it.

Very nice. I wonder if it was designed as a travel brush?

Went to an antique fair today looking for an Old Spice mug and ended up with more razors and a pack of blades.

Not sure on the age of the Gem or the Schick Krona but the Red Tip is an E1 which I think makes it a 1959 and the little Gillette Travel is an L1 which should make it a 1966. I bought the Gillette Travel razor like my wife buys shoes or a purse (it was cute).

I'm not sure what happened but not too many weeks ago I owned one (1) DE razor (new this year) that I shave with and that was it. As of today I have two (2) DE razors (new) that I shave with and ten (10) vintage razors, some of which I intend to eventually shave with. (1) rolls, (2) straights, (1) injector, (3) SE's, and (3) DE's.

It's like I'm a meth head or something.

I picked up a NIB/NOS Old Spice shaving mug and an empty Gillette razor box today at the antique mall.

Thanks to Dark Vapor posting the old Gillette TV commercial, I figured out that the box was originally the home of a 1956 Super Speed, Heavy version; I assume it was the most aggressive razor in the series.

Sweet haul! That Old Spice was made between 1948 to 1955. The case is to a Red Tip, the cases with the HEAVY on them like that one are rare.

Fantastic score. I love that NOS Old Spice with the mug.

Now you just have to find a Red Tip and you will have a set to die for.

Thanks for the complements and information, guys. I guess I'll be looking for a red tip now! How can I tell if the red tip is the "HEAVY" version?

    *edit*

I think I figured it out. The blue tip is light, the flare tip is regular, and the red tip is heavy.

    Is that correct?

By the way, I also found a razor set today that was made in England. I can't find any information on this set, so I posted a "Help please" thread in the Safety Razor section. I posted more pictures in that thread; if any of you have any info, please let me know.

I picked up a Twinplex blade sharpener and a Clix razor at an antique store today.

Then I found my best razor deal yet at an outdoor flea market; a Gillette Super Adjustable Black Beauty, long handle version with a T4 date code. I picked it up off of a vendor's table (it looked like it had not been cleaned since 1973) and asked the guy how much he wanted for it. He looked at the razor, looked at me, and said "How about two bucks?"

Needless to say, I didn't haggle with him.

    Ooooooo.......:love029:

Make sure you only adjust the razor while the doors are open.

I hope you guys will bear with me for a minute or two. I was going to post this in a new thread but I couldn't figure out how to do that. Anyway the haul sounds like a good title. My lovely swmbo and I were into our second day of a staycation that we both really needed when I got a call from a co-worker letting me know about the government shutdown. Without saying what agency I work for I am considered an excepted employee. So at that point either I come back to work or not get paid (it all depends on whatever congress decides to do they can decide to retroactively pay furloughed workers) we decided to stay at a local hotel and then go camping in a state park on the northern Oregon coast. May not get paid for vacation time but really needed a break. We did some antique shopping and clamming (razor clams of course) Here is what I hauled in. 20131004_204728.jpg 20131008_185956.jpg 20131014_191629.jpg 20131004_204728.jpg 20131008_185956.jpg 20131014_191629.jpg made some great fried clams and clam chowder.picked up a nice bowl for a buck and ever ready 83, 89 and 100 along with a nice looking century and a B2 red tip. Thanks for looking (and letting me ramble). By the way am back to work but just won't get paid until the gov't opens back up.

Thanks for the info JoAnna, I did not know that.

Is that the case for all adjustables, or just the long handle versions?
