Thursday: Prep: Hot shower, Crown Co. Supreme Glide Pre-shave lotion Brush: Beeline Boar Soap: Ginger's Garden Oakmoss glycerin-in-a-jar Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC Blade: Bic Hi-Chrome Platinum (2) Passes: WTG, XTG Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Nivea Energy ASB Cologne: Gigember Estragone by Dr. Vranjes This morning, I pulled out the Oakmoss to give it another trial run before Walk-in-the-Woods week. I've mentioned before the frustrating difference in ease-of-lathering for me between the Ginger's Garden glycerin pucks and the glycerin-in-a-jar; I may have hit upon a weird solution. I initially tried face lathering, which resulted in a thin, slick coating without much cushion. Lately, I've been trying to lather these products via bowl lathering, which often results in very bubbly, cushiony lather that looks like dish soap, without much glide. This morning, after bowl lathering and covering my face in the "dish soap" lather, I went back to the puck for a couple of swirls, then face lathered on top of it, producing an approximation of the cushion PLUS slickness combination I'm used to from the Ginger's Garden pucks. I didn't QUITE get the ratio, so my neck got a little irritated, convincing me to stop at a 2-pass DFS.
Thursday 10/17 Hot shower the essential start to the day. Facial prep from RazoRock glycerin. Second soap from the trio of TFS, that is on loan. Crema Purissima Da Barba Per Pelli Sensibli, a bitter almond scent. Shavemac Silvertip Badger 1905 Gillette Open Comb Gillette Silver Blue The ultimate in shave comfort, closeness for a near perfect DFS.
Thursday (no pic today) Prepped face with a wash in L'Oreal Men Expert. Mühle R89 coupled with Q-Ball (7). Old Spice Original Lather SC whipped with Semogue 1520 boar brush in Steve Woodhead shallow mug. Traditional 3 pass followed by luke rinse, Ajanta alum applied for 1 minute, then rinsed off with cold water. Finished off with Nivea for Men Sensitive ASB. Rest of face moisturized with Nivea for Men Face Cream. This was my first time with the Old Spice cream. Nice lather and smell, it'll go perfectly for my "party-setup" which consists of Old Spice all the way through. It's my "signature scent", and I mostly only "scent-up!" on weekends heading for a party. The Q-Ball is done. 7 shaves was 1 too many, way too rough ATG. The 6th. was a lot better ATG. Very nice blade, right in the top amongst Viking's Sword and Wilkinson Sword. DFS.
Vintage Colgate cup soap with a Tweezerman (I'm very frugal with this soap). The mug is from the 1960's as well. 1921 Gillette Tuckaway with a Rapira blade on 3.
Congratulations! I've been more anxious about how many shaves you were gonna get than I was about whether the shut down would end!

Prep: warm face wash with Shea Moisture African Black Soap Soap: TOBS Jermyn Street Brush: Parker Synthetic Razor: Maggard M10 Blade: Gillette sharp edge yellow AS: Krampert's Finest Bay Rum, Aveeno lotion DFS. This was my first shave with the M10. It's much heavier than my Merkur 33c, and a bit more aggressive, IMO. It was a nice smooth shave, with a couple weepers on my neck. The soap lathered brilliantly and provided comfort and cushion. Have a great Thursday!
Thanks. Today, my Merkur 37c arrived so I will go ahead and retire that blade. Tomorrow I will have my first shave with a slant razor. I am looking forward to that. The shutdown ended just in time.

Second shave with the M10. I decided to stop after two passes WTG, XTG, and I got a SAS. I reopened the neck weeper from yesterday, and I nicked my mole. Friday: L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/Rapira day 5 Gillette Menthol SC Diana Sport Menthol Balm Osage Rub AS Aramis Stick Deodorant Aramis EdT This would be a very good set-up for a Menthol Monday Shave because it's so cold. Wow, the Gillette Menthol cream's cooling power really hits hard and its lather is very easy to work with. The Diana Sport balm might be too much for anyone who can't tolerate intense menthol, and the Rubby Dubby Doo is equally potent. Today's shave was so enjoyable. Have a great weekend, folks!

The entire cost is less money than just a few replacement packs of Fusion Cartridges. Retail Price of Shave Razor: $26.99 (should last a lifetime) Brush: $30 after reknot (already 50 plus years old, a new knot once every 50 years will cost you $20-$25) Blade: $0.36 (I toss a blade after 3 uses, but some will push longer) Soap: $7.95 (should last at least 6 months) Aftershave: $5.49 (average about 4 months per bottle) Enjoy your Friday everyone, I am hoping that we finally get all sites restored today as it has been a grueling ten days of down time.
Friday Prep: Hot Shower Soap: Stirling Coniferous Razor: ’66 Gillette Slim “5” Blade: Polsilver SI (1) Brush: Omega 6192 Badger Aftershave: “Osage Brisk” WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit) First shave with the Polsilver SI blade in the Slim. I went with the Stirlling Coniferous for my soap today. The Polsilver and Slim seem to really like each other: smooth, close, nick & burn free shave. I finished with a blast of “Osage Brisk” today. It matches up well with the Stirling Coniferous. Hi Ho, Hi Ho……….. Bob
