Welcome friend, all the members have great suggestions for a new wet shaved but here is mine. Sally beauty has a Shave factory butterfly metal safety razor for $10.00. It's VERY beginner friendly, solid and actually a nice little razor. I have had mine for ever. Walmart (curse those mega mart monsters) has a very nice shave set with , in my humble opinion 1 of the best soap pucks around, a nice boar brush and a quality palm bowl. The brush will shed a hair or two for the first few shaves but will stop and once broken in becomes very nice. I believe the shave kit was also less than $10.00. I may be off by a buck or two, but basically for aroundn$20.00 you can get everything you need. Good luck
Welcome! My own journey was from electric to mid-range cartridges to safety razors, so I feel ya. My own razors (so far) are all vintage pieces from grandparents and great-grands, so I'm particularly envious of your Rolls. Have fun exploring.
Yeah, I'm quite excited about the Rolls and my dad was thoroughly pleased that I found it so neat. Looking forward to getting to know it, after I spend some time getting my face used to a DE. Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, definitely seems like a nice place =). Thanks for the welcome!
Welcome to TSD!!! I picked up a Rolls in our box tour here...have yet to give it a go! Probably not the best one to start with though...
Welcome to the Shave Den. Lots of Oregonians here. I've even met one or two of them. I live in Woodburn, OR myself. We have several members from Portland, and at least one in Salem and Lake Oswego.
Welcome Home You're going to love it here...if you don't already. I started wet shaving with a RazoRock 3pc from italianbarber.com. The razor itself is sold under other names, but I don't know them off hand. I found the razor to be a great starter razor for quality + price = GREAT value. Also, you can pick up good quality cream and soap locally. The Body Shop offers a very nice Maca Root cream and Bath & Bodyworks offers C.O Bigelow. Stop in at Fred Meyer and pick yourself up some VDH soap for only $2.00, it'll help with lathering any soap/cream. The TSD Store offers a really nice 32pc blade sampler that is worth every penny! You've come to the right place and are in good hands. Welcome again and SHAVE ON!!
