Hiya my name is Erik and I'm new from New Jersey found this site while looking up an infomercial. I just recently ordered a ej 89bl off of amazon with a pack of 60 mystery blades. I currently use AoS sandlewood shave oil, cream and balm. With a fine badger brush. I have been using a sensor excel and it works ok when the blade us brand new but after 2 or 3 shaves it makes my face feel like it's on fire.
Welcome to the DEN! You've done the right thing by ordering that new EJ. Throw that Sensor away and never look back.
Welcome! Your in the right direction! You will love your new razor. Just remember no pressure on the razor let it do the work.
Hi! Welcome to the Den. Be sure to sign up for the November Newbie Give-Away. Where in Jersey? I'm in Pennsauken.
to TSD "mcmuffkin"....I hope you enjoy it here....... The EJ 89 is a "GREAT" razor!!! In fact I.M.O. any decent 3 piece razor(I own many) makes for a wonderful shave... You may find like I did that the smooth EJ handle is overly slick with wet soapy hands, but most other 3 piece handles(vintage Gillette,Parker,Sabi,Cadet,Griestshaving,Weber, etc) will fit that fantastic EJ shave head or you could simply wrap your EJ handle with leather string or o-rings inorder to improve the grippiness of the handle.. As to your "mystery" blades, are you meaning a blade sampler pack? If so that is the way-to-go with blades...The more different blades you can try the better in your quest for the perfect shave.... on your decision to give "traditional" shaving a try.. Your shaves will get better and better with Time,Technique,Practice and Patience..
Welcome to the DEN! The EJ 89 is a great razor, and more importantly, a wonderful razor to begin your DE (double edge) journey with. Enjoy!
Thanks for all the great info. I will definitely sign up for the November give away. I was reading last night and was wondering if I made a mistake not going with the merkur razor.
