    Friday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, Crown Co. Supreme Glide Pre-shave Lotion
    Brush: VDH Boar
Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine Glycerin
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Sputnik (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG
Post: Cold water rinse, Dickinson's WH, Aveeno Active Naturals ASB

Once more into the brink with a Sputnik. The amount of wax on this blade - including the edge itself - did not fill me with confidence. However, between the extra prep with the Neutrogena, the copious lather, and extremely close attention to detail, I got a BBS 3-pass shave. I still don't find the Sputnik a particularly comfortable blade (for my face, with this razor, etc.), as I got more burn from it that I get with brands I prefer, though the Aveeno does a reasonable job fixing that.

    Prep: FitjarSoap Pre Shave Soap
    Razor: Merkur HD
    Blade: Q-Ball
    Brush: Frank Shaving Chubby Badger
    Soap: Sir Irisch Moos Stick
    Aftershave: Sir Irisch Moos Aftershave
    Moisturiser: Fitjarsoap Shea Butter Moisturiser.

Sir Irisch Moos is truly a wonderful stick. Smells good, lathers well and built from the same soap as Tabac. Go Figure.
Probably just placebo, but to me they really do perform differently

I had my first shave with the Q-Ball blade. It has the same wrapper as the Crystal blade, and is made at the same factory. One could be inclined to believe that they are the same blade. But after this shave, I do not think so
The Crystal is my top Israeli blade, followed by the Viking Sword a few paces behind. The Q-ball comes on third, and could be even lower, if I just had more Israeli blade to compare with.
It was lacking in sharpness, but still rather comfortable. The first pass, which did have to mow down a two day stubble, made the lack of sharpness very noticeable. But it cut it down clean and (somewhat) efficient nonetheless.

The following passes were much better, and I ended up with a pretty close shave and no irritation. Not bad for a middle of the road kind of blade.

    FRIDAY

    a. PRE: Hot shower, Shea Face Wash, Homemade Citrus PSO
    b. RAZOR: Merkur 38C 'Barber Pole'
    c. BLADE: Astra Stainless (Day 1)
    d. BRUSH: Omega 652 Pure Badger
    e. LATHER: Shea Moisture Shave Butter Créme
    f. SHAVE: Three passes plus touch-up
g, POST: Cold water rinse, Alum Block, 4711 AS, Proraso balm

Easy morning shave with probably my mildest razor. The Omega is quite soft, a bit floppy, but does a nice job 'frosting the face' with the thick shave butter créme.
DFS+! Looking forward to a great weekend!

    Gillette Fusion Proglide Power
    Proglide cartridge (2)
Omega 20102 Pro boar bristle brush,
MWF soap, lather with hot water—
    Witch Hazel
    Captain's Choice Lime

A nice Friday morning shave with Mitchell's Wool Fat. I took a longer time enjoying the lather process. My Fusion Proglide shaved like a dream, I only wish my lather was a little thicker today. Next time. Aces!

    Friday

    CeraVe facial cleanser
    Razorock Boston Tea Party soap
    HIS brush
    EJ DE87
    Astra SP blade
    Alum block
    CeraVe lotion

I really like the Razorock soap! The big HIS brush made a preposterous amount of lather from it, but at least I didn't run out. ;)

I wish Edwin Jagger had a more rational naming system for their razors. I think of this razor as a DE89 with a faux ivory handle rather than a chrome handle. DE87 sounds like it has a different head, not just a different handle. Oh well...

Three passes, excellent smooth shave, with one tiny cut that stopped quickly enough.

Lather looks pretty good in the mug, Leo! Maybe a bit 'foamy'—which MWF can sometimes get when it is acting finicky.

PRE: Hot Towel + MR GLO Soap + Homemade PSO
    BRUSH: 26mm Manchurian WW Custom
    SOAP: MdC Scented
    RAZOR: 40's Style Rocket
    BLADE: Feather
POST: Alum + 4711 Splash + Nivea Balm
    WW_MIM_3.jpg
The brush was pure joy today...50mm is the right loft for this knot I would say. I tried a Feather blade for the first time today and was extremely pleased, not sure why I hadn't yet...Too much hype about sharpness I guess. Fantastic shave though, sharp and smooth. Have a great Friday!

    ram57 Don't Open til Christmas

    Razor: 2013 R41 head Cadet TP 30B blk/gld handle
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (D2)
    Brush: 30mm HMW Silvertip
Pre: Musgo Real Lime Basil Oil Soap
    Soap: Jabonman Brisa de Oriente
    Post: Monster Alum Block
    Aftershave: Floid Suave

Swapped out the Muhle handle with the heavier and longer Cadet TP 30B black and gold handle and resulted a better BBS shave than yesterday. Probably a combination of the heavier handle along with the Silver Blue being broken in yesterday but two pass BBS shave with zero irritation or touchup. Think I will keep the Cadet handle on this head or possibly swap the Tradere handle on my DE89 but cant argue with these results.

It is very mild, reminds me of the smell of sweetened iced tea. The ingredients list says it contains green tea. This is the only scented soap that my face tolerates. Every other soap I used is unscented.

I had a little problem with the Col. Conk today. I had put it in the microwave for about 7 seconds to remove the deep concave impression. I let it cool over a couple of days, but when I tried to lather with it today it took much longer. I ended up adding water to the top and letting it sit for a while. Finally, I got some good face-lathering going. Set at 9, the Slim gave me a great near BBS shave with two passes and a little clean-up on my neck. Finished off with some Dickinson's WH and the Pinaud Clubman AS. Feeling great and smooth.
