Needed a wake up this morning. Very nice shave with the Astra and the menthol helped to clear the fog away.

Magnificent would be the right way for me to describe this shave - this Nanny's soap smells so nice and gives great lather with an awesome menthol effect which hits as soon as your brush makes contact with your face. I can't stop hyping the Svoboda balm and the Barbon aftershave because they're both so cooling and protective. ;) :D

Prep: Warm shower, Homemade Cedarwood PSO
    Razor: Merkur 39c
    Blade: Personna Blue Lab (3)
    Cream: C.O. Bigelow
    Brush: Vie-Long Horse Hair 12705
Post: Witch Hazel, Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm
    Aftershave: Master Bay Rum

DFS. I love the Bigelow. I always get a great lather and protection from it. I'm not loving the Merkur 39c, though. This is the 3rd day in a row that I've used it and I have to say that, so far, I'm disappointed. For me, it hasn't lived up to all of the hype and great reviews. I want to give it a fair try, though, and so will revisit it soon. However, tomorrow I will be back to the EJ DE89L. Can't wait!

    Have a great day!

3rd shave with the Israeli Personna SP Crystal in the Slim. I used Stirling Scots Pine today. Great combination! Great close and nick free shave. I finished today with the Barbon AS from Hungary.

    Astra Super Platinum
    3 passes
    Tabac ASL
Pre de Provence Shea Butter Enriched After Shave Balm

Smooth and comfortable. While I liked the Merkur Progress, I absolutely love the Progress Long Handle. The TSD soap made an awesome lather this morning. I noticed that if I swirl just a little longer on this soap that I can get the consistency to a very thicky and gooey lather that is properly hydrated.

Pre Shave Soap: Musgo Real Lime Basil Oil Soap
Soap: Le Père Lucien Savon du Barbier
    Post: Monster Alum Block
    Aftershave:
    Speick

Great shave using Le Père Lucien this morning. This is the 3rd time using this soap and though in my opinion not a MdC replacement, pretty darn close and 30% cheaper. For me, lathers just as easily with pillows of lather and the post shave is almost as smooth. Today bypassed the PSO and back to a 3 pass shave and the same 3 touch up areas under the chin and midway between the lower lip and chin. Up to this past week I felt that using MRGLO pre-shave soap would be good enough to exfoliate my skin and prepare my beard, but the inclusion of the PSO after using MRGLO seems to be the ticket for a two pass BBS shave for me and leaves my face silky smooth without irritation of any kind.

    Ladies and Gentleman, Friends,

i hust had an amazing shave. I just wanted to try my new "Gillette New" for my moustache area...but i was so impressed, that i had to shave my whole face. A fantastic razor. Not too aggressive, not too mild.Just a nearly perfect every day shaver. Now,that the temperature here are very frosty,i thought to take a soap, that soothes my skin very well. Here now:

One more shave and that tube of Palmolive will be the only cream I have ever finished.

I won that tube in a PIF a while ago. I only had Wilkinson Swords from Wal Mart, a '40s style Super Speed, a VDH Boar and a tube of C.O. Bigelow at the time. Didn't think I would ever buy anymore razors, creams, brushes or soaps.

No time for a photo today.

Prep: Proraso Green Crema pre Barba
    Soap: Proraso Pelli Sensibili
    Brush: HIS Synthetic
    Razor: Maggard MR10
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock Sharp Edge Yellow
Post: Cold rinse, Shea Moisture After shave Elixir, Proraso Green Crema Pre Barba

I was in a hurry, so I tried a two pass shave: WTG, ATG - resulting in a DFS with some burn, but not as bad as I expected. I used the Proraso to put out the fire, and I bright it to work in case I needed it again. I did. Overall, not a bad shave and no weepers.
Should I expect, based on this that I might be able to get a nice two pass shave with a more aggressive razor and taking more time to be careful? I think I'll try again some time with my MR10, but maybe not tomorrow. :)
